Can someone here actually build a "real" App to set up PlexConnect, you know the kind of App where you click on an icon and have it do it's own thing, like PHT or PMS. Not a bunch of command line instructions and how-to video's. At one point there was one but apparently we can no longer talk about that here.

You are perfectly free to talk about Plexify and its functionality and there is an open thread if you look.
However we are not allowing nasty name calling and noise about the merits of something with an icon versus a script, which usually ends up resulting in the former.
Those posts have been deleted and any repeats will result in bans.
Even if I did I’m not sure yet if you would still need to manually edit sudoers. I should be able to get the majority of the optional WebConnect add on trimmed down to simplify installation at that least.
It is not required as a startup item. It installs a plist to load plexconnect at boot. There is no memory footprint whatsoever after it installs PlexConnect besides PlexConnect itself. The only time it uses memory is when you run the app to perform tasks.
Today I took my laptop (MBP) out for some exercise and when I came back Plex Connect wasn't running when I rebooted - had to run OpenConnect to get it going again. Why?
OpenConnect installs a autostarting plist. When you left and came back with your mac it probably dropped plexconnect since your mac lost its internet connection. Best thing to do would be to goto OpenConnect and update plexconnect to reload plexconnect or use launchctl to reload the plist otherwise your could have just rebooted your mac to get going again since it would relaunch plexconnect. Also I would hate to keep bumping this thread feel free to post in my OpenConnect topic.
No since you can only have one instance of plexconnect running at a time. I guess you could remove the launchctl plist to load plexconnect at boot and just use plexify or just use OpenConnect and do not autostart plexify.
Please define “it”. If you are asking if you could update Plexify, OpenConnect or its addon WebConnect, im not sure if that could be included into PlexWeb as a update plugin feature since they are apps/addons. I would imagine you could update plexify within itself. I know on my app OpenConnect and its addon WeConnect you can update both of them within each app/addon. I belive PlexWeb is mainly for pms management.
