Will I run into any issues if I upgrade my PMS server to the latest version and PlexConnect to the latest commits? If ATV2 still works with the latest versions of both I am ready to pull the trigger on upgrading. Thanks!
Whose versions of PMS and PlexConnect have you installed ?
I am on PMS version 1.2.7.2987 and v0.5 of PlexConnect from https://github.com/iBaa/PlexConnect/releases.
Being in a PMS version older than 1.5.1 can bring you problems in the medium term, see https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/268072/plex-media-server-1-5-1-and-plex-media-player-1-2-4-or-newer-are-mandatory-updates#latest
I have no ATV2 to test if the latest PlexConnect version works on it, so I suggest that you make the test. Returning to v0.5 is as simple as unzipping that version and copying it over the installed one (preserving the .cfg files).
The main dependency that the latest PlexConnect has is that PMS supports “profile augmentation”. But since this was enabled on PMS 0.9.16.x you should have no problem upgrading PlexConnect even with that old PMS version.
