I am a long time user of Plexconnect and think of myself as fairly knowledgeable about how it works, how to keep it going, etc. For some reason, I came home last night and it was not working. My ATV wasn't connecting to the computer/internet unless I put in the router's DNS. I double checked Plexconnect and it was running properly, DNS was correct, etc. The ATV just refuses to see it. I am running this through the iMovie Theatre app. Anyone else have any recent issues all of a sudden?
Hmm, seems Home Sharing isn't working either (even with my router's DNS in settings) and my iPad Plex client can't see Plex Media Server either. Odd thing is my iMac connects to the net via Wifi and that works.
OK. Solved. Just some kind of esoteric router problem. Reboot router and everything works. Unfortunately, the ATV updated itself when I had Plexconnect inoperative. God the new firmware is ugly in comparison.
Looking back I seem to specialize in this solipsistic troubleshooting threads. I thank myself for my help!
