I have a apple tv 3 with version 5.2.1....i did what the instructions said and all i get when i open the trailers app is "Trailers is unavailable. Try again later.".
The dns of my apple tv before i changed it was 192.168.2.1
And my local ip was 192.168.2.7
I have Windows 8 Pro
Bellow I have a picture of what shows up when I open plexconnect.py and a picture of my settings.py
I really want to use plexconnect...please help
(i had also tried changing 8.8.8.8 in settings.py to the dns of my apple tv before i changed it but no luck)

Your local IP of your Windows 8 Pro machine is 192.168.2.7. This should be the DNS of your Apple TV, as well as IP_PMS of your Settings.py.
Have you tried adding media to your Plex Media Server?
i habe the same problem! i opened the trailer app on my apple tv and it says trailer is unvailable. try again later
What is the DNS server setting on your ATV?
Hi, i had the similar issue,
i always first open Plex Media Server and than start PlexConnect.py, i never succeed.
Give a try, first open PlexConnect.py, it will look like this

Than run your Plex Media Server and open Trailers from your AppleTv (Make sure that changed your ATV DNS setting [for me its 192.168.1.4])

Its weird but i only get it work with this way. When i start Plex Media Server first, it fails for me...
I am using windows 7. My Computer and Plex Media Server local ip : 192.168.1.4, ATV local ip :192.168.1.2
My Settings.py =>
My Plexconnect.py =>
Sorry for my English
On my apple tv... i have set the dns to 192.168.2.7
The only channel/media i have on my plex is itunes
On my apple tv... i have set the dns to 192.168.2.7

Change the following entries in settings.cfg to:
ip_pms = to the IP if your PMS
ip_dnsmaster = to 8.8.8.8
What is the ip of my pms???
The IP of the computer, usually, on which PMS is running.

The IP of the machine you are running Plex Media Server on (you should have made a DCHP reservation in your router for it as well so it always gets the same IP).

Are you running PMS and PlexConnect on the same machine?
Do you have more than one PMS running in your house?
