PlexConnect no longer working :(

Hi all,

So I messed up my PlexConnect somehow perhaps trying to install a channel? It was working flawlessly before I installed the channel and then after installing the channel it would not run on my ATV. It started off with really slow loading and "accessing trailers" but I could see the PlexConnect menu (Library, Channels, Settings) in the background but it would load extremely slow. I tried to reinstall PMS and PlexConnect but it still won't load up. Also, before I reinstalled it PlexConnect said "Exception happened during processing of request from..." 

Please help! I'm stumped!

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version (found under the ATV settings > general > about > Apple TV software): ATV 3 - 6.0.1

  • The DNS server set on the ATV (found under the ATV settings > general > network > DNS): 192.168.1.40

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: Windows 7 64-bit

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (do not put 'latest'): 0.9.8.10.215

  • The PlexConnect version number. If using Github source then a time and date of download (look at the creation date of the folder) and if you are using any testing branch e.g. the Elan/PlexInc one. This "log" is not from the latest sources. Did you download an ealier "release"?

Grab the latest, delete your ATVSettings.cfg file and try again...

Thanks for the quick response Baa! I had an earlier release of plexconnect that was downloaded on 10/28/2013 but it started doing really odd things like loading "accessing trailers" but showing the Plex interface so I decided to reinstall/update by downloading the latest. Apparently I didn't do that properly so I will try again as soon as I get home! Should I just do a clean/fresh install by deleting the whole PlexConnect-master folder (excluding the certificates folder) and redownloading?

Alright Baa here is the latest! I deleted the entire folder except the certificates folder and tried to reinstall that way. I'm no longer getting "Accessing Trailers" but instead "Trailers is unavailable.."

SOLVED! 

I don't quite know what the original issue was (the laggy browsing) but the reinstall failed to work because I created a new trailers.pem and I guess that when you make a new one it is unique and therefore didn't match with the certificate/profile installed on the ATV! I deleted all certificates from the certificate store and installed one (in order to make sure I could match them) and installed a profile using that specific certificate on the ATV. Now it's back up and running!
