PlexConnect not working on ATV2

I have previously set up PlexConnect on my ATV3 and it worked first time around, however after upgrading to 5.3 on my ATV2 i cannot for the life of me get PlexConnect to work and am constantly getting the fatal 'Trailers not available'.

 

I have tried all the following on my ATV2:

  • jailbroken 5.3
  • non-jailbroken 5.3
  • upgraded to latest version 6.1.? i think
  • installed cert from atv inputting http://trailers.apple.com/trailers.cer
  • installed cert from apple config
  • repopulated new cert and installed again using above solustions

All of these ways still come up with 'trailers not available'

 

Just to clarify yes my PlexConnect server and Plex server were running and i changed DNS to IP of PlexConnect server (192.168.1.82)

 

I am at a complete loss as to what to do now and would appreciate any help.

 

Some more info that might be useful. My ATV has currently got 5.3 non jailbroken software, my PlexConnect server is installed on a freeNAS server with an IP of 192.168.1.82 and my plex server also installed on my freenas box has an IP of 192.168.1.81

 

My setting.cfg file currently has the following info which work fine with my ATV3.

My personal favorite way to install Plexconnect on an aTV 2 jailbroken on ios 5.3 is by using my .debs i created based off of iBaa’s original method that I modified to automate the installation. After you install the .debs or use iBaa’s original method in this topic you can just sign into myplex and call it a day:

My post is #231 if you want to give it a try (it creates a dedicated Plexconnect app. Otherwise stick with iBaa’s original method which works as well. I just attempted to automate as much of his original method into a easy to install .deb with my own modifications. Another bonus to these methods is your aTV will now be mobile as if you were at home now that shared and local libraries has been implement by iBaa. All you need to bring is your aTV anywhere there is internet, sign into myplex and watch your content like you were at home.


Can you view your pms content on a non aTV device successfully from your nas?
