I have tried installing PlexConnect both on my NAS and iMac. In both cases the install went fine.
However on my aTV (after changing DNS to either NAS or iMac) I get the error message "Trailers not available. Try later". My aTV has been Jailbroken.
What to do to get it working?

He means we need more information to help diagnose the problem. See the Read Before Posting thread stickied at the top of the forum.
That said, I agree with Baa that your firmware needs updating.
You can try bypassing the pre play screen (press the play button rather than the select button).
Or upgrade to 5.1+
