PlexConnect on synology

Is the 'enable web station' checked in the web applications tab of the web services control panel? Does it help?

Nope. Enabling it doesn't fix the problem either

can someone sent me his /usr/syno/apache/conf/httpd.conf file?

Edit: no need anymore, looking for a solution…

bwynants,

can someone sent me his /usr/syno/apache/conf/httpd.conf file?

I have managed to make PhotoStation and PlexConnect both work after installing the latest package by doing the following:

  1. vi /usr/syno/apache/conf/httpd.conf-user
  2. Locate Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf and put a hashtag (#) before it to make it a comment.
  3. Navigate to the very end of the file and paste Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf at the end of the file.
  4. Save the file.
  5. Restart Apache using: /usr/syno/etc.defaults/rc.d/S97apache-user.sh restart

Perfect. This works perfectly. Photo Station, Surveillance Station, DNS Server and Plexconnect all working in harmony. It's amazing how in this day and age that you guys can work together to make all of this work in harmony.

My setup is complete. I have an Acer AC100 Quad Core Xeon e3-1260l server running Xpenology (Synology DSM 4.2) perfectly on some serious hardware (if synology would make something more powerful than an Atom Processor, and less than $1000, I'd jump all over it).

4x3TB drives gives me 9TB of protected storage. Plex with PlexSync and a lifetime membership allows me to have all my content accessible from nearly any device I have, Plexconnect allows me to use my apple tv, DNS server (and Tomato on my router), allows me to manage DNS resolution and Crashplan allows me to backup everything to my other server at the office. Everything works perfectly with the odd corrupt video file taking down Plex if accessed through Plexconnect. This is just unbelievable.

i'll make a new installer later today based on this input, thanks!

Awesome! Thanks for the fix. DSM4.3 now working with PhotoStation, PlexConnect, etc. Many thanks to bwynants for creating the installer, looking into the problems and the user who provided the fix.

updated installer, if you modified your install, please undo that before installing this latest installer

Does it run when PlexConnect is not installed? What does the Log file say? you can view it in Package Center. What version of DSM do you have?

Thanks for your post^^

Everything works at home :)

I had a similar problem that was due to NETMASQ running, as it results in Port 53 being used which conflicts with PlexConnect (as mentioned in an earlier post). Killed the process from a terminal window. Not sure what caused NETMASQ to run in the first instance; but so far no noticeable effect without the process running. I have not restarted my syno since; and have still to check if it is called at startup anywhere.

New installer works great with Photo Station. Thanks again for creating this package. Maybe you could publish it on the Synocommunity package store.

see https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc/pull/576

request was submitted on 27-6-2013, nothing more I can do I think...

As soon as they publish it it should autoupdate...

Thanks for a great tool. It worked great on my DS1511+.

Question, can we install this SPK and then use git to keep it updated to the latest version or is there something unique in here where we'll need to always use the package?

Even better will there be a release of the package as new code is added?

Thanks

Josh

I have been trying to get Photo Station and PlexConnect working on a DS212j

All sorts of problems, but I have just updated the DSM to 4.3-3750 as part if the beta testing which is available, and also updated Photo Station to version 6, also on the beta site

http://www.synology.com/index.php?lang=uk

Before this, I tried the PlexConnect plexconnect_noarch_0.1-4.spk, which did not work for me at all, I ended up not having access to the Plex server from the Apple TV3, and still no Photo Station.

So i am running with plexconnect_noarch_0.1-1.spk

So I seem to have everything running, but have no idea why. Hopefully someone may understand, and be able to use the information

:)

New version is not working for me.  Says trailers are not available right now
