PlexDBEditor

Nice!

Bro, you rock!. I don't know where we'd be without you putting out great stuff for Plex. Let's hope you keep getting bored in the future :)

Thanks someone, you made my day. Great work from you - as usual.

Thanks for the kind words.

I’m not sure what happened, but whenever I try to open it, I get an error message: Unable to open database!

I can see a list of my movies, so something is read from the database, but I can’t do anything.

any thoughts?

Did the previous version work for you?

yes it did. although I'm not sure if the one I used was version 0.5 or 0.4.

0.4, there never was a 0.5 :) I'll look into it...

thanks! if there's anything I can do, let me know!

Sent you a PM

Hi someone.

Thank you for your excellent work. I finally managed with Plex DB editor to put the movies starting with quotation marks on their places in alphabetic order.

Is there any way to get some additional data from the DB. Like how many movies there are or any statistical info?

Yes, some additional information are planned for the next versions, but there's no schedule. I don't know how much time I can spend working on it in the next weeks/months... Stay tuned :)

I just uploaded a new version which should fix the “Unable to open database”-bug after starting the PlexDBEditor. So if you didn’t observe that bug there’s no need to download the new version, no new features have been added.

Many thanks to “nerpissad” for tracking this bug down!

Hmmm, this one still doesn’t work for me. The most recent upload gives a “…quit unexpectedly”. The one before returned “unable to open…”. Errors could be caused by the fact that Plex is reading the database from a symlinked userdata folder on my NAS. The one before today’s upload worked like a charm.

Just uploaded the new version which should fix that crash.

Just gave it a quick spin and now works like a charm! Also picks up my nfo’ed tv shows and iso’s that are added to the library (e.g. show.s01e01e02e03e04). Great work!

+ 1

Lets try again : would it be possible to get the source? I would like to add a last thing for my personal use… (thumbs)

I’ve often thought about creating an editor such as this but those thoughts always come when I want to do bulk editing. For instance, if one uses both IMDB and TMDB for movie info, you wind up with a lot of duplicate genres. I don’t simple want to remove a genre. I want to say “replace ‘genre-x’ with ‘genre-y’” and have this operation take place in all movies that currently have ‘genre-x’ listed. In my dream editor, I think about keeping this and other commands as scripts in a script library so that I may consistently execute them over and over again as necessary without geting them wrong through fat-fingering during any particular instantiation. I dream about having a ‘startup script’ which always runs whenever I start the editor so that a series of bulk operations takes place every time I run the editor, etc … A DB editor which handles only one entry at a time is interesting, to be sure … But one that takes the view of a “library editor” as opposed to an individual-entry editor is what truly excites me …

Please send me a PM with your mail address. I'm currently working on a new version. As soon as it's done I'll send you the sources.
