Guys, it's not that easy as you might think. The problem is that API has been changed over the years and it's getting harder and harder to support earlier versions of OS X. I understand that a lot of users still use 10.6... I'll try to make it compatible with Snow Leopard, but I can't guarantee or promise anything.
yes, it's annoying that you need to type password every time you start, stop or restart PlexConnect. We're working to fix that. We don't force you to use the app, you're free to use what you want.
Anyway, our team consists of just two members (I and nem4ara) and we're doing our best. There is no need to be angry
I'm not angry at all .. I just said that it's needed to be done .. thank you for your hard work!
I'm pretty sure what he's trying to say is STOP NAGGING.
Calm down. I didn't complain/angry/nagging or anything like that. I just told the man who (truly) wants support for SL that they want to do some things before that .. That's all..
I wrote a basic shell script to get it to work for now in automator without a password (still requires the original app in /applications). It still requires you to click start, to start plexconnect. It requires editing of visudo still in my previous post. Just add the new app I made into login items (link for login items info in the same all in one tutorial below) and you should be good to go (downloadable zip ready at bottom of post). If you need to change the icon to something else follow my tutorial here at the end of the first post, enjoy
When you hit stop in his app it seems to kill plexconnect. I did not check the running python processes after I hit stop, that would be an issue with his app I would assume, if it is an issue.
You can check that plexconnect is running if you see this screen when typing in your plexconnect associated ip address, if not plexconnect is stopped:
My apologies, I was just trying to make your app work without a password for the time being until your new release comes out, I meant no harm. When it comes out it will render my password workaround shell script obsolete. Please continue your great and appreciated work on your plexifyapp If anyone else has questions about this workaround feel free to message me privately and not on this topic, or open a new one.

Just so I'm sure - you've mentioned 1.1 a couple times & changes to the app - I presume that the 1.0 version linked from the first post does NOT include the changes you've made to date and that it is still the original version with only the name change, correct?
I further presume I should just wait until you announce a 1.x version in this thread and post a new/different link then, right?

Yes. You are right. We test the application
Well, I thought my error was trying to use PlexifyAPP v1.0 from the OP link on Mountain Lion. So I updated to Mavericks in hopes of solving the problem. Alas, the problem persists.
When I run the app my screen "rotates" back to the login screen where I have to enter my password. Then it "rotates" back to where it was with an error message that reads, The action"Run Shell Script" encountered an error."
Am I still doing something wrong? Is there a solution for me or do I just need to wait for the next version?
As others have said, thanks VERY much for working on this project. You are very generous with your time and talent.

I re-downloaded the PlexifyAPP and it seems to be working now. Thanks for the app. Looking forward to working with the next addition.
Some good news guys.
- Auto download (from github) is implemented
- Can create / generate certificates
- No more annoying password issue, keychain is our best friend
- Tweaked UI
Oh, almost forgot. Most probably it'll support 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We worked really hard to support it!
Super great Cyberon. It would also be cool to have an option to auto start the start button, so we don’t have to do anything when the computer starts. I don’t know if i’m clear enough ?
