Super great Cyberon. It would also be cool to have an option to auto start the start button, so we don't have to do anything when the computer starts. I don't know if i'm clear enough ?
+1 At least to have plexconnect actually running when the app is started, not needing to hit start as @arnaud.c said.

Ah, that's already done. I forgot to mention that because that was the first thing I did after releasing 1.0
Also there's a "Welcome" window, which will help you to install and configure Plexify
Just curious if these could be implemented into your app now or in furture builds.
an option to enable fastuser switching at boot when the app is loaded to allow plex media server (as well as any other app desired) to load at boot time when a user has a machine they want locked and plex media server loaded as well as plexconnect by using this code or something similar to make it more streamlined:
A fastuser button to lock the sceen which would use the same code as above keeping plex media center always alive.
An option to enable checking for updates with notifications when they are available, and optional downloads for plexifyapp & plexconnect. This way we dont need to check github or here for an app/script update for your app or plexconnect.
A changelog embedded into the app to know what changes were made or additions etc.
Some good news guys.
- Auto download (from github) is implemented
- Can create / generate certificates
- No more annoying password issue, keychain is our best friend
- Tweaked UI
Oh, almost forgot. Most probably it'll support 10.6 (Snow Leopard). We worked really hard to support it!
Thanks everyone for suggestions!
Thanks for the update Cyberon.
I've currently got PlexConnect running beautifully on 10.8.4 apart from long annoying delays when switching between menus etc. Now these updates have been implemented, I think I'm going to bite the bullet and and upgrade to 10.9 and install Plexify. :)

You should be able to install and run Plexify on your system. Currently it supports 10.7+. Let me know if it doesn't work for you :)

Thanks for suggestions, we'll try to implement some of them in the coming version.
Cyberon can you go into more detail about how the user’s password is stored eg the AppleScript method people were using before had a small but real security hole associated with it.

Sure. I'm using Keychain Services (Docs). More specifically SecKeychainAddGenericPassword and SecKeychainFindGenericPassword method. Later, I retrieve the password when needed.
In the future I'll make a small open source framework, which will handle everything associated with the password, and will embed that into the app. So that those who are interested in what's going on under the hood can check.

Stop asking people for eta even if it’s a harmless question when people are doing stuff for free it’s irritating to feel pressure to produce even if it’s in giving a deadline coz when you don’t deliver ppl just ■■■■■ some more

They (we) are asking for link because Cyberon and nem4ara wrote "that's already done", "New app design very very nice", ... of course, everyone want to try. Sounds ready to get, ready to use, ready to enjoy ! The new 1.1 version looks very great !

Easy, easy - I didn't notice that my question came immediately upon the heels of @tomer1749 asking the same... so, point taken.
I'm only hoping to set expectations - if the answer is "next week" then we can all relax, if it's 10minutes then we can all feverishly refresh the main link! :P
I ask - Testing new version
Please wait
Thanks!
Speaking of free (which was going to be my next post anyway...) - @nem4ara and @Cyberon - even in it's current state this is worth a few bucks to me to buy you a beer! If you fire up a paypal link with the download link I'd be more than happy to send a few beers your way.
And yes, I've already bought @Baa and the PlexConnect guys a beer too.

People can ask whatever they want. It's a free country so please shut your face. No one made you king.
