PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

Hi guys, did a lot of searching but I guess I am just plain dumb. I don’t know which PlexKodiConnect (PKC) to (try to) install on my new Ugoos AM6B+ running CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.0-Omega-Generic.img on an SD card (with dovi.ko) stuck in the Ugoos. On the github PKC installation page I see the following four zipfile repositories to choose from:

Kodi Matrix Stable & Beta
Kodi Nexus Stable & Beta

Which is the one I want (least amount of headaches on the Ugoos?) Oh, and what’s the difference? Cheers :slight_smile:

Hi, am brand new to PKC on my new Ugoos AM6b+ with CoreELEC-Amlogic-ng.arm-21.0-Omega-Generic.img. I only have this CoreELEC version and the latest PKC Nexus 3.9.0 stable installed on the SD card. A coupla quick questions please if I may…

  1. I noticed that unlike the official Plex app or PM4K all the TV shows & Movies show up “inside” Kodi instead of opening up another app like with PM4K. Is this true or did I do something wrong?

  2. I only have your basic three Plex libraries : Movies, TV Shows & Other Videos. Piggybacking on Question 1, I can’t find my Plex “Other Videos” stuff… where is this hidden? With Plex official app and PM4K I have thumbnails of all the content that I have in my Plex “Other Videos” library but now I can’t find them “inside Kodi”. Left hand side under Kodi Movies I see a bunch of my movie posters (which I guess is my Movie library) and under TV Shows I see a bunch of my TV show posters (which would be my TV show library). But what I don’t see is my “Other Videos” library ?

  3. Backing out of PKC settings a few times I got a green/blue spinner for an extremely long time (default Estuary skin). I didn’t even change anything in PKC settings. Just looked around then backed out. Then the spinner for about 4 minutes, seems like the whole thing was frozen. This happened twice. Bug with CoreELEC?

  1. That’s the entire point of PlexKodiConnect :wink:. This enables you to use and Kodi skin, customizing the look of Kodi. You cannot do that with other Plex add-ons for Kodi.

  3. Yeah no idea, I have that too sometimes :slightly_frowning_face:. Haven’t been able to fix it.

Hi all,

I have an Odroid N2 with CE and Kodi 20.5.

I have various Movies that are DoVi and with a fallback to HDR10. When first played with PKC the DoVi version tries to play, and as N2 is not DoVi compatiable the picture is terrible. The TV is DoVi compatible

If I stop the Movie and restart again the HDR10 version plays and all is good.

Is there a way to make PKC always use the HDR10 version first?

There is option in Player Setting of Kodi to set supported HDR metadata

Settings>Player>Video> Supported HDR
If I recall correctly this would be the path for the setting

You can disable Dolby Vision from this setting if enabled, please check and update me if solves the issue or not

This is the only HDR setting under Player and can only be ON or OFF.

That’s because you’re using Kodi 20.5. AFAIK this is a feature of Kodi 21 Omega.

Both. PKC doesn’t control your HDR settings. @abhi0077 hinted towards a setting that isn’t available in your Kodi version AFAIK.

That setting is also not in Kodi 21. Installed it today on SD just to see.

I have that option available, and as @panni pointed out I have Kodi 21 and have this option in settings

Maybe the option is only available on devices that are DoVi compatible, hence why I’m not seeing the option on my Odroid N2.

Hi Everyone,

CE 21.0, Odroid N2 with latest PKC.

Whenever I play a trailer for any video I get this blue rectangle:

Does not happen with the Plex Client nor when using YouTube.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

No idea @gregeeh PlexKodiConnect does not in any way interfere with the actual video playback. This is either Kodi’s or Plex’ doing

Just figured it out. It’s an issue with Estuary Mod V2 Skin. You must have the play trailer option set to full screen to remove it.
