PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

I do hope @croneter sorts out this watched/unwatched status problem. Since going to 1.1.0 of the plugin my TV Shows and Movies are no longer showing the correct status.

Same here on my Mac mini. PKC 1.1.0 just gives an error at startup. No matter what settings / resets.
Reverting back to 1.0.17 solves the error and everything works as it used to.

@mini.PLEX @danielxb
Ouch :-(. Please do share your detailed log so that I can look into this

Could you elaborate?

All of my movies and TV shows show they have been watched. This is certainly not the case on my server and was not an issue until I upgraded to the latest plugin.

After upgrading, the plugin no longer loads on my Mac. Logs: http://goo.gl/trB1Xj

EDIT: But other than that, great plugin. I use it everyday. Let me know when you have a donate button so I can buy you a six pack.

I rolled back to 1.0.17 which has issues with multi-user profiles still but with 1.1 none of my nodes except recently added was populating and in both version I am experiencing abnormalities with unwatched/watched as has been reported.

It seems to take a while before new videos are added to Kodi. How long does it take? is it 30 minutes?

Ouch, not good at all :frowning:

  • Do really ALL items show up as having been watched completely?
  • Do they show up as watched on Kodi only or do they appear as watched on the PMS as well?
  • Do you have several Plex users and/or several Kodi profiles? Did you at any point switch between them?
  • What’s your Kodi version? What’s your OS?
  • Logs?

Could you please provide me with logs for both video nodes in 1.1 as well as profiles in 1.0.17 when you try to replicate the abnormalities? Private PM would be appreciated ;-).

In my case, only the TV On Deck video node does not populate, rest works.
Multi user profiles work fine here, too…

Thanks a lot for the logs! I think I found the buggers

@croneter Thanks for the 1.1 update and working on the server load, great stuff.

I installed last night but received the ‘PlexKodiConnect Error’ message. I confirmed the direct IP settings were correct but no joy. Next, a full reset (all three options), then again set up using direct IP to internal network. Couldn’t get it to work.

I then re-installed version 1.0.16, which instantly found my server and started building the library - using the details I had left in there whilst setting up 1.1. That indicates there were no issues with those details or previous setup attempts under 1.1.

Full logs sent to you via direct message.

thanks.

Hey everyone. Just wanted to throw this out there as a reminder and to try and help @croneter not only get things moving forward faster but try and alleviate him having to ask for logs all the time. Im guilty of it too but try and remember that he really cant trouble shoot any of our issues with just a description of whats going wrong. You have to give him logs to look at as well.

@croneter I’m really interested in supporting multiple PMS syncs / connections in parallel. I have a locale Server and a VPS and switching between those two is quite annoying (and not really intuitive for other users)

Do you have an idea what would be necessary for supporting you there? Is it something which can be done within the PlexKodiConnect source or is this a general emby issue?

Could someone please tell me how to pull logs from AFTV box. Because all of the files are located internally on the FTV box as opposed to a Windows box where I have full access to the file structures, I am not sure where to look on the box to find the log files or how to get them off of the F TV box then onto a Windows box where I can upload them. I am asking this in advance because I’m having some issues and am sure the log files might help to resolve them.

Additionally, when I rolled forward to the latest build, I am having the same problem as everyone else above. Pkc fails to connect and I never get the pop up like I did at 1. 0.16. I added in the server ID and port number manually but still got no Joy. Tried a full reset of the database also, and got the same results where did not connect. I am sure the log files would help but I’m unsure how to get them off the Fire TV box and on to my laptop so I could upload them. As noted above.

Thanks,
Al

Not sure if there is a better way, but you can probably use any File Explorer App for the AFTV and use ftp/smb like described here.
If you are firm with the Android SDK Tools (adb and stuff) you can also try to adb shell into the box.

I found ADBFire to be pretty easy to use to get to Kodi folders: http://jocala.com

This looks pretty cool. I have been taking and just using ADB and pushing Kodi to the Fire TV boxes however this looks like it might be much simpler. Do you happen to know which subdirectory or where in the tree I will find the log files for pkc?

Thanks,
Al

Its in the “temp” directory on the FireTV. Just pick temp from the list on the right then select “Pull” to retrieve them. It will present you with a list of whats in there. One of them should be the log file.

Just started playing with this today, and I’m having an error pop up. I’m using Windows 10, and the Kodi v 16.0. I’ve installed the plugin, and it’s found my Plex server. The only problem is, everytime it interacts with the Plex server I get the following error. Web server Failed to start. I can hit ESC to get past it but it reappears. If I continue to hit ESC, I’ll get past all the errors and everything seems fine. Right now I’m just testing on my desktop to make sure I get everything working correctly before I put it into production. Has anyone seen this issue before? Thanks.
