Just tried 1.1.2. While it seems to work ok there are a few things that I at least find a bit of a hassle / annoyance.
They are:
1. The pin entry instead of being able to sign in is still a hassle.
2. The number of trailers to play before a movie is not being respected (Does Not appear to check the value in settings as far as I can see after looking at the code... if I looked in the correct place).
3. Still no multi-server which makes it semi unusable for people with multiple servers.
4. No quick way to switch server's.
5. Syncing a large(ish) plex library takes a while and doing it on slow devices (like a pi 1/2/3) would be worse.
Why is it needed to sync the library into kodi when the plexbmc approach worked just fine? I know browsing is faster but its ALOT of data to sync for larger library’s and if it needs to be done on multiple devices or multiple slow device’s like pi’s (even pi 2/3 and such)…
I know you can copy the .kodi folder but that may not always be an option copying say the x86_64 .kodi folder to a pi2 (with other addons setup / installed on that first / master machine).

Thanks for your feedback
- Most people use kodi with a remote, not a keyboard. Hence the pin sign in. Plus you need to do it only once
- Known bug
- Enabling multiple servers for PKC is still a giant load of work and recoding. I want to have everything else set up and running first.
- Agreed for switching servers (which does not make sense as you would need to resync every time). For users, set up a dedicated Kodi profile for each plex user (and share the library data). Or use a skin where you can make a shortcut to the PKC user switch on the homescreen.
- Agreed, but again you would only need to do that once in the beginning.
PlexBMC works completely different than PKC. PlexBMC links to plex content and grabs everything only when you request it. PKC grabs all the plex content and inserts it in the native Kodi database - that’s why you can use any skin and plugin and why browsing is instantaneous, especially on e.g. a raspberry pi.
If you don’t want your plex art synched (that’s taking up the majority of the space), deactivate that in the PKC settings. If you set up a new machine, only copy over your Database folder - the vast majority of all plugins doesn’t touch the database.
Personally, I use an Openelec Raspi 2. I find it rather awesome
I couldn’t get sound to work with this release, direct stream or transcode, no audio came through. PlexXMBC works fine on “Legacy” settings. On OMSC rpi2
First off, GREAT Add-on!!!
This is my first time trying it, and so far everything has worked flawlessly!
Thanks for making this… I was really annoyed with having to use specific skins for PlexBMC
I can’t figure out how to edit a comment, but I just wanted to add that I synced 820 Movies and about 500 TV episodes… I’m using a Minix U1 Box
Any chance we will have the collection item from Plex mapped into Movie Sets in Kodi? Or am I missing something obvious on the Movie Set front?
BTW, 1.1.2 is working great! Thank you so much for doing this.

How about some logs from you?
Edit: I’m using openelec.tv on a raspi 2,works perfectly
@croneter
I don’t use a keyboard on most of my kodi machines. I have pi2’s, odroids, cubox’s and even a couple of nuc’s and use remote’s with them all and its easy to enter the username and password for plexbmc with it. Takes me about 20 ish seconds with the remote with pin I have to find the pin go back to another computer and go to plex sign in enter pin. and then with people using this to view my server remotely having to setup their’s with a pin aswel…
So just having the pin entry doesn’t make sens especially when its still in development and the database needs to be reset with every second update(also a hassle with my point 5) which means having to re-enter pin’s for every device to keep them up to date and working.
1.1.2 - No info for TV shows using “i” on the keyboard or through the context menu. Movie info works fine.
No, I am not using direct paths, I’m using the default. It is a shared server with several other people and I’m not sure how I would set that up.
I will try the manual full sync.

- Are you using direct paths (e.g. smb://myserver/mymovies)?
- Try PKC Settings → Manual full sync and report back
No luck on the Manual full sync

Very weird. How about a repair sync? And then some logs
Same with the repair sync. This is happening on my windows comp and Fire TV.

Do you have another plugin that messes with the Kodi database? There are many calls like
10:56:58 T:1224 NOTICE: PlexKodiConnect PlexFunctions → Toggled watched state for Plex item 26594
10:56:58 T:1224 NOTICE: PlexKodiConnect KodiMonitor → Method: VideoLibrary.OnUpdate Data: {“item”:{“id”:54,“type”:“episode”},“playcount”:1}
that should NOT take place and are triggered from outsike PKC. Looking at the rest of the log, it might be script.navi-x. Can you try disabling your addons one at a time, then do a manual full sync every time (!!) and see if the ‘i’ key works again?

I went ahead and uninstalled kodi and deleted all folders and re-installed Kodi then installed PKC. Same result. No info for TV shows using “i” on the keyboard or through the context menu, but I do get info for the individual episodes. Movie info works fine.

Thanks for all the help!
Crashes for me. Running on a Pi 3 using Openelec 6.95.2 that has Jarvis RC2
It installs fine, then logins no problem - then when it starts to scan my PMS - hard reboot over and over.
No idea what’s wrong. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still the same. Also tried resetting all setting - no go - still the same reboot.
Any suggestions?

Do you have a weak PMS? Try reducing the number of threads to one in the PKC add-on settings.
Hmm, I am getting some real oddities when attempting to play TV episodes. For instance, I attempting to play an episode of Misfit Garage and it played Bomb It a documentary about graffiti. So I did a full database reset and rescanned everything. Then attempted to play the same episode and it played Bone Tomahawk a movie with Kurt Russell. Very strange. I also tried another episode of a completely different TV show and it also started a random movie. This is on version 1.1.2 and SPMC on Nvidia Shield TV.
Did you disable the trailers?
For me it works now perfect!(ODROID / CM13 and Sony Android TV)
Thanks croneter for the good work!
