PlexKodiConnect: Kodi Plex Integration Done Right

I still cant get this to sync past 101. Stops every single time and freezes after hitting 101

Send me a personal message with your logs as described in the wiki. Otherwise I can’t help you

I had a similar problem with syncing. Got stuck at a certain point everytime.

I restarted my PMS on debian and haven’t seen the problem since. Will send logs if it happens again.

First, I got to say that PlexKodiConnect is awesome… I like it a ton.

The only thing is that I am having a bit of trouble with On-Deck. It seems to not match up with what I am seeing within the Plex Applications. I’m not sure what the deal is. Everything else looks right. I only have one users. I see most of what should be in On-deck but there are a few other episodes that show up when they should not be showing up.

Am I missing a setting or is this always going to be off like this?

How long does it take for new videos added to plex to appear in Kodi? The last time I tried it was taking very long.

edit I just reinstalled it and it does not add the videos quickly. I left it for 10 minutes and the new video still didn’t appear. It looks like the setting says 30 seconds. Do I have to look at something to trigger the library update?

Looks like a bug in your case - the background sync does not work like it’s supposed to. Adding new items through background sync should only take about 30+10 seconds.

Please send me your complete (!) logs with debug logging enabled (PKC settings - advanced). Then add any item to one of your movie libraries and scan that library to let plex discover it.

Has anyone tried or know if TVTunes add-on should work with PlexKodiConnect? I just installed it the other day, it downloaded all the time themes but it doesn’t play if I’m browsing my Movies or TV Shows library.
I’ve checked all configuration on TVTunes but still nothing.
If it doesn’t work, it’s no issues. Just wanted to know so I know whether to uninstall TVTunes or not.

On another note, I noticed that PlexKodiConnect works alongside PlexPy  Great work, @croneter

thanks for the excellent add-on.

i am using the 1.1.3. release on a rpi3 (openelec 6.95/kodi 16) and on a rpi2 (openelec 6.0.3/kodi 15). after a weekend of quite heavy usage everything seems to be working smooth (PMS is on another rpi2).
I used default config for the add-on, only thing i set was the PMS’s IP.

Running
PMS 0.9.16.4
PKC 1.1.3

Music: after initial sync of music library, DateAdded is NOT correct:

albums seems to be added in revers alphabetic order wich is -if the crawler syncs alphabetically- indeed the same as DateAdded.

Installed fresh Kodi & plugins

I suppose this is a bug?

Kind regards,
B

OK

I have installed this many times but on a test machine but actually have never tried to play anything. .

So i tried to install it on Openelec Chromebox and everything went well but every thing Plays in SD( to be honest it looks worse then sd), even the info on the files say SD, but every thing i have is HD.

Is there a setting i need to change or something

also where are the logs stored on Openelec

edit

Ok its Transcoding for some reason(it shouldn’t)

When you select the addon instead of direct paths do you need then to turn off everything under Customize paths(the first one is on by default)

In the PKC settings, choose video settings of 1920x1080, 40Mbps

Do you normally need to change that setting or is something funky going on with my system, i thought if it could direct play something it would just skip that setting.

The Chromebox direct plays all my stuff

No, the default setting is 1920x1080, 40Mbps. But if you updated your PKC, another setting might have gotten stuck ;-). Good to hear that you’re up and running now!

I read as much of this forum as possible, but I still have to ask. First of all it looks like you’ve put together an extremely solid addon. Current setup:

3x NUC Celerons with 64g usb3 thumb drives running kodi, connected via gigabit to home network
racked plex server in my basement hosting ~40TB (2k movies, 18k episodes), handles 3-6 transcodes for friends and direct streams to anything in the house just fine

PlexBMC has been in my home for yeaars  I’ve made it a habit to look every few months for updates and it has worked out well. Please excuse the hesitation, but I’m slow to adopt sometimes.

Would I even be able to cache that size library on a 64g thumb drive? I’m trying to gather the advantages of switching, so far I have gathered these with some thoughts:

Faster browsing, (kinda thought it couldn’t get much faster)
More skins (really like this perk, easy way to confuse visitors and get a cool new perspective on my tv; been using amber for quite a while, never changed the gear background on settings, kinda makes me crazy every now and then)
Trailers
Easier upgrading? (guessing hippo is phasing out plexbmc, prob going to have to switch soon for compatibility anyway)

I assume Music w/ direct paths defined is still broken? Before I go down this road again given the large music library thought I would ask - defined direct paths or not for music?

Thanks

Quick answer cause I’m on mobile. I cache 1600 films and 12000 episodes on an 8gb SD card with an rpi2

Plex Music is still broken:

  • If you use direct paths, Kodi will delete songs instantly
  • If not using direct paths, Kodi will try to scan Plex folders it cannot access. If you have a large library, this will likely crash Kodi

Please, send me logs where you added a new Plex item to your library and it did not show up on Kodi. Otherwise I cannot help you because I cannot reproduce your setup

With PlexKodiConnect growing faster to be a great solution for many users (in my setup it works much better than PleXBMC) it would be great to have a dedicated forum section, or at least a [RELEASE] thread with no comments where we can always find the newest version.

Seems direct paths for Music is working now, at least for me  - one question, how would one go about creating a playlists for the music nodes? For example, I have PKC pointing to //192.168.1.xx/Media/Music and that contains /Music/Lossy, /Music/Lossless, and /Music/HD Tracks.

Is it possible to have 3 playlists based off the above paths for each Music Node that is defined in Plex as Lossy, Lossless, and HD Tracks?

Thanks!
