PKC is asking me to select a stream even when there is only one and the list is populated with many (like 10+) “unknown” items… Ended up turning the feature off but looks like it is not quite working as intended?

Hey, currently using PKC and Amber having came from plexbmc and it works great, awesomely stable. Is there any way to disable auto play as we get distracted and sometimes leave it running which powers through the season unattended? Can’t spot it any settings! CheersI’m not 100% sure, but I believe that is a service addon called Nextup Service. If you look through your addons, you can change the settings or disable it all together.
You rock! That worked perfectly.
I don’t suppose anyone knows how to have ‘recently added’ be show seasons rather than episodes? I’m using Amber and this worked nicely in plexbmc. Things just get a bit messy when I add a whole new season at once.
Cheers

I’m not sure how to do this through PKC, and I haven’t recently added any TV shows so none are in my recently added menu to test. I do know that you can set up a smart playlist that has a rule like “Match Items Where: Date Added/(In the Last) X”. Where X is the number of days I believe. By adding that rule to a TV Show smart playlist it will show the TV show that has been updated with new episodes as opposed to just a list of random episodes. Hope that helps you a little.

Cool! Happy to report progress report is now working from widgets in krypton ![]()
First off, thanks for a great plugin! Downloaded it, configured, worked fine, then I noticed that just during that time there’d been another release. I love it when stuff happens quickly
Now, to a question:
I’m running Jarvis with Amber skin, and I’ve set it up pretty much like PHT with the vertical menu and recently added/on deck lists running horizontally. However, on deck isn’t working the way it is in Plex, even though as far as I can tell, it should be the same view. For example, I have a “special” episode that I’ve skipped, but is still marked unwatched. Plex correctly ignores this episode and shows me the next one after the one I watched previously. Kodi/PKC however keeps showing the old special episode no matter what.
Is this a configuration issue, or a bug in PKC? PMS having moved to 1.0 recently, I expect maybe there’s been some changes, but also the API should stabilize.
Any thoughts on this are appreciated. I’m loving having Kodi be the front-end to Plex, never had a better Plex client

Good to know that you’re enjoying the ride :-D.
PKC mimics Plex’ On Deck, it’s rather a hack. Guess that these “skipped” episodes was something I missed (wouldn’t know how to skip one anyway).
Edit: Try PKC settings - Appearance tweaks - turn off Extend Plex TV Series "On Deck" view to all shows. PKC will then use the PMS On Deck view 1:1

- Does this only concern “Special” episodes as in “the making of” and stuff like that? (“Season 00”)
- If not, could you send me the XML of an episode that you skipped? Go to your PMS web interface, navigate to the item, hit the three dots “…”, info, then show XML. I’d need the entire thing
OK, so Plex doesn’t actually emit the On Deck list as any kind of playlist or items? You’ve had to build a corresponding feature yourself?
No, it seems to be any unwatched episodes, actually. It seems like Plex and PKC treats On Deck slightly differently, in that Plex will show the next unwatched episode following the previously watched episode, whereas PKC will simply show the first unwatched episode of the show, regardless of any other information. Not wrong, just lacking that extra bit of logic Plex put into their system. For example, I’ve skipped over a few episodes of the Late Show, and I won’t be watching them now because they’re so out of date. I should probably mark them as watched, but technically I haven’t watched them, and PMS will simply ignore them because I’ve watched more recent episodes anyway.

Basically, I think the logic should be written so that even if you jump around to random episodes in a fully unwatched season, it should always show the next unwatched episode following the most recently watched episode (if that’s indeed possible from PKC’s perspective). This seems to be how PMS does it. It makes sense, because maybe you’re skipping a few episodes and want to keep watching from further ahead. Even if you do that multiple times, it should “catch up” and show the next relevant episode based on how you’re watching the show.

Hah, no problem, I’ll try that ![]()
What does that setting do, actually? Does it not include “all shows” by default? What is not show if “some” shows are left out?
Another question, not nearly as much of a problem: I have a bunch of framerate test videos in a “Miscellanoues” folder in PMS, set to type Home Videos. For whatever reason it shows up together with my movies in Kodi. Is that also something I can toggle off (did a quick check yesterday, but didn’t find anything)? It’s a separate source in Plex, so I don’t really understand how it gets caught up in my Movies source in Kodi to begin with, nor why it think it’s a Movie source.
I tried to install this on Libreelec 7.90.002 which is based on the kodi v17 alphas and it says it isn’t supported. Is there anyone else running v17 on a chromebox/NUC under libreelec?

Kodi Krypton is still in heavy development and especially the Kodi database gets changed. I’m 90% sure that it’s related to Latest Kodi Krypton not working, Library sync · Issue #56 · croneter/PlexKodiConnect · GitHub. You need to mess with the PKC source code (!!) and change the line
"17": 105 # Krypton
Keep experimenting with the 105 to 106 or 104

I had to change the database version number to 105 as per croneter’s post above to get it to attempt to sync. I think the DB version number changed from 105 to 106 in the latest PKC update…

I turned it off, and even did an “Update library” in Kodi (although I don’t know if that has any effect when running PKC), and it’s still showing the S00E02 special episode as “On Deck”. Also, the On Deck part is actually titled “Recommended” in the corner. Should it actually say On Deck? Again, didn’t find anything in the settings about this, it should all be mostly default.
Should I perhaps refresh the entire PKC library? Trying it now, will update if it works.
Edit: Nope, total reset of library and it’s still showing the Special episode as next up in On Deck.

You are indeed using the PKC video node labeled “on deck”, by navigating to e.g. Video - plugins - PlexKodiConnect - Movies - on deck? Should really mimick plex 1:1 when you changed the setting. Have you rebooted kodi?

I actually got it working in the 6/25 Milhouse build without any popups, which is weird since it came out like 10 days after the libreelec version. Maybe the libreelec was too old for the latest plexkodiconnect.
Anyhow, one other weirdness I saw was, I can sync and everything looks good but when I use the Aeon Nox5 Silvio Mod and after some period of time all my TV shows (from the plex TV show video node) disappear. I can kinda trigger it (most shows going away anyhow) by turning on extrafanart in the skin and syncing it to the db, so I’m thinking something is incompatible somewhere. Even without extrafanart it seems that eventually the TV shows from the pkc TV show node go away. The ones in the plex “TV Shows” are still there. Do you want me to get you some logs? Let me know what you need.

Again, you are using an alpha version of kodi. PKC is extremely taxing on kodi. Video nodes are unfortunately not known for their stability. All facts combined practically guarantee that you’ll be running into issues.
I’ll wait with attempting to fix anything but the most obvious bugs until Krypton / Librelec becomes more stable…
