yum downgrade back to 1.18.0.1846 works successfully.

Working on it already with Engineering.

I saw it about 10 minutes after it was pushed to beta.

I am running into this very same issue. I didn’t see how I could downgrade so now my Plex server is not operational. Can you push a new version that gets this error fixed.

Same here, with the same error. I am running the latest Fedora 30 Server Version.

Same issue on Synology. Rolled back to 1.17.0.1841 by turning off “Plex Pass” at the downloads page.

FYI the download page still shows this build. I just downloaded and updated and now running into this issue. This was for the synology nas 64bit

Hey guys,

1.18.0.1892 has been taken down due to the startup issue (related to permissions)
1.18.0.1846 has been restored as the current Beta release.

We are working to correct the issue, and will provide a new 1.18.0 when this issue is resolved.

Ok so i see the .1846 available for download for synology nas and sucessfully installed it and up and running.

I tried to install 1846 over the broken 1892, but it tells me I can’t install an older version. Any way to bump the 10/1 1846 version to a newer version number or would that break things further?

Uninstall the old package first.

Your data is safe

Now install the older package version.

Linux systems (except for a few NAS platforms and docker containers) retain your metadata.

I’m on Synology NAS DSM 6+/64bit version. Is that one okay to uninstall?

Yes. I keep the application software in one area and your metadata out in the Plex share.

Synology doesn’t permit downgrading either.

You are 100% safe.

When the installer runs, I have it go find your Plex share and use it wherever it might be on the NAS. All is good again.

Worked like a champ, no loss of data that I can tell. Thanks!

Won’t be any. I take a lot of care making sure it isn’t touched when uninstalling or reinstalling.

I am also on Synology and can’t do it - heading to work. Will miss some recordings - ARGH!

What do you mean “I have it go find your Plex share and use it wherever it might be on the NAS.”

  1. So I click the uninstall dropdown.
  2. Then install the previous Beta
  3. Do I have to point it to some files or folders of some sort?

TX

Nope. Just uninstall plex and then manual install the new package file. I did that yesterday evening and went through just fine.
