Same here.

OS: Centos7.7
Error:

Oct 07, 2019 14:49:48.211 [0x7f7511551b80] ERROR - Error: Unable to set up server: use_tmp_dh_file: Permission denied (N5boost10wrapexceptINS_6system12system_errorEEE)

Same here. I build from the .rpm and run on Arch Linux. Avoid this build!

The service will actually run very very briefly at times and then die. I’m getting:

[shaun@arch plex-media-server-plexpass]$ systemctl status plexmediaserver.service
ā— plexmediaserver.service - Plex Media Server
Loaded: loaded (/usr/lib/systemd/system/plexmediaserver.service; enabled; vendor preset: disabled)
   Active: activating (auto-restart) (Result: exit-code) since Mon 2019-10-07 15:59:30 MDT; 1s ago
  Process: 2508 ExecStart=/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Media Server (code=exited, status=255/EXCEPTION)
 Main PID: 2508 (code=exited, status=255/EXCEPTION)

uninstalling then installing older version will not wipe my database and libraries I take it they will remain?

im happy to wait 24 hours if necessary and just overwrite with a new build if thats going to be easier?

confirmed, i uninstalled 1832, rebooted my DS-1819+ then installed 1846 and its all back up-and-running and have clicked ā€˜Skip This Version’ for now.

Is there a way to get the old version back? I deleted it and now this update isn’t running like you guys already said.

Synology DS918+

I need Synology 1846. My Plex is also broken.

Same here with Synology DS916+.

The Synology build :1.18.0.1846, for DS918+.

TO ALL WHO FIND THIS THREAD

I am working with Engineering now to determine what the root cause is.

We see in the code where the error comes from but don’t know if it’s something needed in the packaging (installer) or something else.

We’re waiting for them to help educate us.

UNTIL SUCH TIME as this is resolved, please go back to your previous (or Public) PMS version.

is this only a synology issue, or are any other platforms affected ?

Here you go boys I had the same problem uninstall older version first as it will not go backwards version.

Moderator: Please do not post links to older versions, thanks.

I’m using the x86_64 .rpm and the error I’m receiving is:

[0x7f81018f3b80] ERROR - Error: Unable to set up server: use_tmp_dh_file: Permission denied (N5boost10wrapexceptINS_6system12system_errorEEE)

Ahh, woops on the ā€œReboot the NAS after uninstallingā€ bit, luckily it appears to all be working ok…

Full credit to the structure of the packages here to be able to uninstall and then re-install an older version. Great to have that ability in situations like this.

I tried that mine did not work, I would go back it is too unstable.

Please revert.

As we look deeper into it, it is appearing to be something in code itself for that.
