The server is prompting for an update to Version 1.26.1.5798, however the file that downloads is the previous PlexMediaServer-1.26.0.5715-8cf78dab3-MyCloudPR2100_OS5.bin file. I have tried installing this bin file (incase it was just misnamed), but no it’s the existing version.
I presume this is down to Western Digital linking the update to the wrong file?
In the meantime, my Plex Server Settings keep reminding me an update is available.
Has anybody at Plex informed Western Digital of this issue, and does anyone know when the next server update will be available that hopefully fixes this problem?
Keep in mind 1.26.1 is a beta release; the latest public release is 1.26.0. If you’re trying to update through WD’s app center, they might only offer the public release.
Edit: if you don’t want to be notified about beta updates, you can change your server to use the public update channel: Settings > [Server Name] > General > Server update Channel → Public
Ah yes, I had forgotten it might be a beta release – and perhaps the latest update got removed after problems came to light (as they might do in a beta release).

I was following the download link in the General Settings menu of Plex’s settings in the Server/Web app.
I have Plex Pass and have set my options for all updates. I’ll bear that in mind next time.

I see the download file has now changed, within a day of my post.
Plex Server 1.26.1.5798-99a4a6ac9 is listed as being posted on May 11, 2022, yet my Plex Server has been prompting me for this update for the last 2 or 3 weeks.
So either it’s now out of beta (I don’t know the status), or somebody has quietly fixed the download link.
Long story short – the update link now downloads the correct bin file.
