So a friend of mine recently installed a new freenas setup, then tried to install the plex plugin and was having some serious issues, couldn’t get metadata, no playback. So he redid it inside of a jail manually and same issue.
I was running freenas 9 train and updated to 11.2-U3 myself yesterday and then proceeded to add a new jail and manually install plexmediaserver inside of the the new jail and I was having the same issue. My legacy jail with plex installed is still working fine.
After troubleshooting, downgrading to 1.14 pms, and lots of other things I figured out how to fix my issue. Despite not having to define the local network range in my legacy installation, I was unable to do anything on my new plex install without defining my local range in Settings -> Network. Now that I’ve defined my local network range, the cover art is downloading, and im able to play content correctly. I hope this helps someone!
