I would love to see ebook support added. technically speaking I would consider books a form of media. I have an extensive ebook collection and while setting up a calibre server is possible it would be a pain for me to do. And having all my media amassed and streamable in one place would be absolutely fantastic.

That’s a dead end. PMP is fully Plex built from the ground up, like PMS and the mobile apps.

While I still don’t think they do, for this case they just hired a guy who made a PlexVR app and then just had him finish/polish it and then they published it officially.

I cant believe how many years ago i asked for this and the Devs have said nothing one way or another. I have a 23TB media server and cant do anything on plex with my books!

May Calibre is too much stronger in licensing for books metadata compared to plex…
It is certainly a fair reason for their non proactive behaviour on that feature implementation…
Still the number one thing I’d like to see Plex add. eBook (pdf, mobi, epub), and eComic support. It kind of depressing that they’ve ignored this request as long as they have. I guess they don’t like reading? lol…

I have read the post several times, just looking through it from time to time to see if there’s been any update, and yet, I still do not see it. The News has been an excellent addition for me, and I’m hoping that perhaps, adding support for an e-reader, and perhaps even a comic book reader would be fantastic! Whether on a tv or tablet. That would be amazing.
I would have always said this would be a useless feature…until I really wished earlier today that this was a thing.
at least give us PDF capabilities

I agree for Audio Books (and really want this feature), but can’t help but feel that there are other solutions for eBooks and comics that do a better job than Plex could.

There isn’t. The “best thing” out there is some godawful mess written in java that isn’t very good at its One Job (ebooks/pdfs). I’ve looked.
