Books and Magazines (PDFs) make up a large part of my digital library. Having them display 1 or 2 pages at a time would be fantastic. I’d never need to leave Plex
Everyone who believes in this cause please take the time to click +1 on it so the dev knows we really want it.

To clarify a little you must +1 the first post for it to count in feature voting
+1 January 2013 - April 2018
Well for the more than 5th year of birthday without news.
So right now I have two media servers for my digital content - Plex, for A/V, and Calibre, for print. Plex has come part way by adding photos, I’d love it if they tie in with Calibre or provide their own ability to serve out ebooks to my various PC’s, tablets, and smartphones, rather than me having to have separate software on the device to go get an ebook, comic, digital magazine, etc.
+1 for reading comics!

can’t help but feel that there are other solutions for eBooks and comics that do a better job than Plex could. There isn’t. The “best thing” out there is some godawful mess written in java that isn’t very good at its One Job (ebooks/pdfs). I’ve looked.
ubooquity and mylar?
Yeah I don’t think we’re ever seeing this…

Mylar is pretty messy. It still doesn’t find some of my comics I have on wanted. It also organized them incorrectly for a while where comicrack kept rearranging them by publisher better. Hopefully I’ll be able to install it better when I move my server over to unraid soon. Haven’t tried ubooquity because I like to have my comics synced to my devices. For work I travel a lot and can’t get a good internet signal most the time
Want add ebook, pdf support, folder jpg book, ePub, AZW, CBZ, CBR and KCC format
Plex is multimedia server and ebook is a media
I currently use booksonic to manage my ebook collection its not pretty but the functions are solid once you get it to work. The art scrapers found 99% of my book cover without any direction.
Plex cons:
ebook art scrapers aren’t great if any.
Plex loses track of overall book progress. Unless you find the right track it will ask if you like to continue.
Ebook organization using music filters is not ideal or pleasing to look at.
Overall if we could fix these three things by adding another library type I think that would solve the majority of issues.
- 1, right now i just upload all my book to my box and onedrive
another update still no word on if they are working on this. just a friendly reminder to +1 the original post to keep this issue on the top of the pile
Would love to have it as well!
I agree with this, I don’t really read comics, but it would be cool to have the option. we need a local media equivalent vs Google Books, Plex could fill that.
+1 I agree with doing this. I have instructional DVDs that have PDF associated with them (like work books, quizzes, etc.)
+1 this feature will be helpful
+1 this feature would be nice for all the PDFs I make so I can access them from anywhere.
