If you check out here it’s already at the top of the list vote wise. I’d love this and audiobooks (which I’m guessing if they went this route would be first since it’s a much lower hanging fruit with similar metadata sourcing). Glad to see this up there though.

I know it’s on top I just was asking for everyone who might not have seen the new forum lay out to know how to actually vote instead of just typing +1. Just to help us get this even further up their list. With Comicrack not being supported for a long time I really want this feature to take off for syncing comics, books, and manga.

Would love to see this feature as well on Plex, the only missing part of plex for me.

Yes, this would really be a valuable addition to PLEX!

+1 for this feature. The ability to view comics and read books on the television is what entices me the most. PLEX is supposed to be a multimedia server, yet this is one of the most asked for features and it has been denied to us.

Es Necesario EBOOK en PLEX YA!!!

+1 Need and need news if the team is going to work one day on this new feature. The request of the community is now old many years’ and always nothing news.

Sorry but in last version of forum, it is the 3rd the most important request of the Community.

If only by respect for the community, you could indicate at least if some day PLEX is going to make this feature.

Best Regards.

+1 I don’t even really care about metadata, it’d just be nice to have access to all of my media in one place across all my devices, with the ability to sync. Heck, Plex already works great for comics if each page is an image, but there’s no way to bookmark where you are at.

Ebook support would be an amazing feature!

If it would only have the library of all ebooks, cbr, etc. You can create a link to open it in applications to actually read it on your phone, surface, ipad, tablet. As was mentioned there are tons of readers, but one place to organize all libraries would be great.

Moderator, if this is not possible from a technical perspective currently, could you provide some of that information? This threat has been going on for 5 years, and will probably continue until there is some technical reason for not being able to do it.

Please add .cbr and .cbz support to Plex.

This thread has been open for years. Has the Plex team provided a response?

The must one to manage a collection of comics it’s Pico Viewer in Windows Store.

You can take him as as an example of manager of library. Parse and scan more than 50’000 comics et only some minutes and after it’s easy to select the comics you want to read.

Same in PLEX, I would be a dream !!!

+1 it’s a nice feature

+1, it would be really great!

I think this is a terrible idea. The drive for every product to be a kitchen sink solution (just like the american business ideal of every company having massive portfolios of subcompanies only leads to jack-of-all-trades blandness for everyone. The best product, the best anything, comes from focus on being great at something… specific. There are plenty of feature requests on Movies and TV play that have not been handled in the last five years. But We got a mediocre music player… and lame channels which they stopped working on years ago… and now internet streaming of podcasts and news. None of my users use any of those features. Hell I wish they would support SYnc feature better–we might use it.

I’ll read my comics with CDisplay. I’ll read books and PDFs on my ipad and PCs with the existing products out there and my dropbox/onedrive/box filesharing accounts.

I have been waiting for Plex server book integration my whole life. I have found the only way until then is to use Calibre for my thousands of books server, which i can access with any platform anywhere from home. I hate having 2 separate servers for my things. i would like everything to be accessible from my plex. i’m pretty sure it’s doable, if someone would just take a look at calibre’s coding and i’m sure a wiz would be able to integrate it with plex, even through a 3rd party.

+1. I would be interested to see whether support for books/comics would have be as requested as some of the other recent pushes such as Web Shows. I know that books/comics have been requested for years now from users.

this would be great as a native feature.

or it would also be great if it were able to be accomplished with a 3rd party plugin via a properly supported and documented API.

+1 here too.

Would love to centralise my eBooks, eMagazines and Cooking Recipes in plex!! All index-able to make it easy to find what you’re looking for, where ever you are.

I don’t want a multitude of different apps, i would personally like all my media formats under one roof.
