Iā€™ve just had bad luck with ubooquity and calibre. I use calibre, but its buggy for me when trying to access remotely?

There is currently an abandoned plugin that works partially . Could be a start?

I would love the simplicity of plex for my cbr and cbz.

I find a CBR its the option Plex needs to be the best mediacenter! (well, for me its , sureā€¦for the rest)

How do you use calibre and keep your file structure decently organized? I would use Calibre too, but that would mean my files being sorted by author, and for comics, that just leaves a mess of a filing system.

Right now I use YACReader and Ubooquity (because the former doesnā€™t have remote access) with ComicTagger and a handy python script I picked up that organizes comics into files based on metadata.

It looks like a hassle but itā€™s a 1000x faster than trying to do it manually.

Iā€™m surprised this isnā€™t already a feature considering how popular that idea seems to be. Iā€™d love this. Currently I use Calibre for books and YACReader for Comics, but it would be really nice to have one central system for everything. And Plexā€™s UI is so much nicer looking and easier to navigate than Calibreā€™s Web Server UI. The best part would be accessing books and comics from outside your local network without having to setup Port-forwarding. Sure, right now I have admin access to my home router but that might not always be the case. Iā€™d purchase Plex Pass for this feature alone if thatā€™s what was required.

YES! A comic book reader (cbr, cbz) I have tried everything out there nothing has been even satisfactory. Having plex handle this would be amazing! Would go back to Plex Pass if this was a feature.

Add this definitely. Itā€™s not something I have thought a lot about until now having a family who all read. It is ridiculous how controlled the ebook market is. Iā€™m not satisfied having to use a kindle or apple ibook app for something that could be centralized on my own server and served through plex. The plex features allow family restrictions which work decently well for other media and could also work well for ebooks. It just makes senseā€¦

ebook/pdf support would be much appreciated!
Seems like a logical next step since everything from films, music and pictures is already supported!

Maybe even audiobooks?

Definitely yes! I also looked for this feature in Plex years ago but unfortunately it is still not implemented. Such an easy task to implement and e-books are also media! Voted also, please everyone who agrees place your vote on top of this page. Hope this will be added finally.
