movie and television organizer, NOT every F’in format on the planet.

youneed a life and a reality check.

I think you are missing the point.
Plex should be tailored to @mg2635599 personal needs. Anything else is an absolute NO.

Movie, Television, Music, and Photos (per the website) and photos have only been recently added. So, it seems, that what it does can be “enhanced” and that is all that the OP asked for. Personally, I don’t use the photo portion and somehow I have not felt any pain (YMMV). If they added a digital comic or digital book reader of some kind, I may not use it either but others would and we could still all live in peace!

Exactly.
Web Shows, Podcasts and Tidal I don’t use at all. Others do and that’s cool.
I see none of them anywhere thanks to the ability to disable them in my profile.
I don’t use Photo’s either and thanks to UNO it’s like Plex Photo’s feature doesn’t exist (as would be the case with this feature request.)

After offering an alternative possible solution (Ubooquity) I turned ‘on watch’ on this tread in case someone needed to pick my brain. However today I had to turn it off.

We need to be raslistic about what is the demand and what make sense to the Company. There is few other solution that offers what Plex does yet we opted into Plex. Some solution is simply not for us, that is why we have Microsoft and Apple then iOS and Andriod.

Maybe this will help, EMBY has this feature

Concluding, that Plex will be intergrating XBMC. Does this mean that then you will be able to custom program an new interface for Plex similar to Kodi? Also, any more recent updates about EBook Support for Plex? I have an massive EBook Collection that I would love to add into Plex.

Says the guy complaining about someone asking for a feature that doesn’t affect him in any way. Whether it is added or not does not change how you interact with Plex so why does it matter to you? Adding this feature doesn’t then mean that movies and TV shows will no longer be part of Plex or no longer supported.

9 november 2019 and still no sign of life.

It’s a shame to keep ignoring the community.

A very useless forum.

It’s not difficult for one of must feature suggestions reply, only just a little hello to indicate that you exist and that you are listening to your customers.

As already stated several times, if money is the only problem for the development part, no worries to use a paid plugin.

I want this for all of my RPG books

It’s certainly disappointing but not surprising. A good portion of feature requests with the largest number of votes have been around for years with no hint of interest with regards to implementation.

The Feature Suggestions forum has been more of a “fan fiction” fantasy collection than a window into what’s to come.

Very well said. I couldn’t agree more. After all these years I still can’t believe Plex hasn’t implemented this. Books are media too!

Plex is the primary media server in the life of many families. For it to be lacking in this area means children logging into Plex will not be given the option of reading a book.

Plex is becoming a company that causes a generation of children to not read. Yes, I’m guilt tripping you. More importantly, you should feel guilty.

There are a lot of features’ Plex should have that every other service has. Such as “My List” or like this thread suggests, an EBook Reader. My Personal Movie Collection on my Plex Server is large enough that it would be amazing to have an feature like "Add Media to My List. Sorta like an Watch Later.

Mainly, because the “On Dock” is an really horrible feature in my opinion. That should probably actually be My List rather thant what ever On Dock is.

If my Xbox One & Vizio TV had an actual fully customizable application that is exactly like Plex but I can add Ebooks, and change the interface so it doesn’t look like crap and is not Kodi I would 100% use it compared to Plex. The Plex Developers should really start listening to their customers, and what they want otherwise Plex will just slowly then rapidly decay

Seriously, Plex is basically starting to seem like a huge waste of time. They use false advertising majority of them. The reviews on the homepage are most likely paided off people, concluding one of them said “Customers, Always come first with Plex.” Which is completely inncorrect, Plex doesn’t give a dam about the customers from the looks of it.

Why even have the forums if the Developers won’t pay attention or give an dam. Is there even an support team on these forums? I have never seen an single person who is part of the “Support” team.

Yes - there is no support at all.
I don’t get it why people still post feature request

A very practical case for inbuilt pdf support:

I make use of a number of instructional and reference video files.

These will often come with accompanying pdf documents.

Ultimately I want to be able to use PLEX as a central storage location for my media and keeping video and pdf together in the one location and accessible remotely wherever I am, at home or at the office, would be incredibly useful!

Another case lies in music: this will on occasion come with inserts / band bios etc, it’d be great to delve into these from plex whilst listening to the digital music file
