I’ve paid for three lifetime subs so far. If you implement this feature, I’ll happily purchase three more (for my kids) so they won’t have an excuse of ‘nothing to read’.

Absolutely would love for this to be added, definitely get me to buy a plex pass. Since at the minute the only thing really interesting to me is the skip Intro and possibly watch together. I admit I use ubooquity but would much prefer to be able to access everything from one location.
Don’t even need a media curator for art just the ability to access the files would be amazing
I would love this feature for my large Manga and Comics libraries. There are just no good alternatives that do what I want.

I would love to have this feature added! The convenience of having all my media in one place, downloaded when needed would be too good!
I don’t think we need another e-reader/comic reader and that would be a distraction to the Plex developers, but the ability to add e-books and comics to plex, access them from your device and match to cover art etc would be a great. It would be nice to add e-books and comics to a movie/tv collection.

It’s been awhile, but yes, Jellyfin is what you want, a centralized hub, that supports ebooks and cbz, been using the Ebooks and it’s off to a great start. I love the idea of an ebook server, (my vote for this post is still there from when I used plex) that’s why I use Jellyfin + Komga. All I said was if you’re out here crying for an ebook server, don’t deprive yourself of one cause it’s not a plex branded one, use it until plex (maybe) adds book support.
Sadly you need docker, I run it on a syno nas myself through it.

Adding my support for this. I have no idea how this isn’t already implemented and advertised as a core feature of Plex. I can’t think of any reason why it would be difficult to implement and I assure you a lot of people grew up reading comics, novels, graphic novels, manga, etc.

Dear Devs and to whom it may concern,
As per this feature request # PLEXREADER: Comics, Books, PDFs
we the prime sub end users are crying for your attention and although you have stated in your rules that you don’t share timeline or your roadmaps, this feature request has been going on since Jan 2013 and other various similar request much earlier than this. I’m not fully aware of your product vision nor goals, but i am aware that you wish to build features that the end users will love to use.
I will be grateful if you can at least provide a/some response to this, so we may least have a scope of your intent regarding this, Myself and I am sure others would be like to know whether the 2121 votes (at present) are not in vain.
The deployment of this don’t have to be a final solution but may start on the simple stuff and then develop on top of this.
