Problem with Discover feature on Plex app running on CCwGTV.
What does work:
Search and Watchlist. In other words, when I search, the searches extend across streaming services, not just my PMS libraries. When I add a show to my Watchlist, it shows up in the new Watchlist tab, regardless of whether it’s a file in my PMS library or is on a streaming service.
What does not work:
- Streaming Services pick list in Settings. I can view the list and select my streaming services (and click Done), but when I return to the list, no streaming services are selected. However, when using the Plex Player on my android phone, the Streaming Services selection DOES work and preserves my selections.
- Discover menu item on the left (under Home, Movies, TV Shows) – this item does display (with the tag “Beta” next to it), but when selected, the main area of the screen is blank except for the message “No items to display. This directory appears empty.” As with item 1, this feature DOES work on my Plex android phone app and the screen shows what it is supposed to: Trending Trailers, Available From Your Watchlist, Trending On Your Services, etc.
I tried clearing data and cache for the Plex app on CCwGTV and even uninstalled and reinstalled the app – and relinked it to my Plex account. But no joy. Anyone else having this issue? I’m assuming it’s a bug with the Discover feature on the CCwGTV Plex app and I hope it will be fixed soon.
My configuration:
TV: LG-OLED C1 TV (but this probably isn’t relevant since I’m not using the smarts of the TV – only using it for display – and instead I have a CCwGTV hockey puck plugged into HDMI 1.)
CCwGTV: Latest version with all updates applied.
