Being new to PlexMedia server, I am looking for a little bit of guidance from the community as what I want to do is pretty simple.
I am a long-time Nas4Free user and am recently added Free Nas as they have worked out the kinks from the initial split. I have built out 2 servers to migrate my media and photos over and am utilizing the Next Cloud and Plexmedia plugins. The two servers are to be mirrored between my house and my fiance’s house as we spend time in each other’s places.
She wants to cut the cord and get Live TV in her area. Me, not so much as I have fiber to the house.
I want to find a Tuner/DVR solution but I really want a card and not another external box. The supported Tuner/DVR page is marginally informative but here is my question :
Can I use the Hauppauge PCI TV tuners in my NAS/Pluging configuration and if so, can I use the Digital one since all Broadcast signals in North America (EST) are digital TV or do I still have to get an analog hybrid tuner? If I cannot use it directly within the plugin server, can I spin up a Linux VM to control the tuner and put it under the control of my Plex Media Server?
