PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

Positive it’s not burned in. No worries.

Hello, new to PM4K just installed version 0.7.9 from panic repository link above (not sure how to install beta versions) and having audio out of sync issues for pretty much everything, 4K, DV, HDR, 1080…

Any fixes for this?

Why would you assume that’s PM4K’s fault?

no issues when using Plex app (or any other app) so assumed it must be something in my settings for PM4K

CoreELEC or LG?

LG (and to be clear running kodi on cube 3rd gen.

Hmm, interesting. Try the latest 0.8.0 beta with the seek fix enabled.

Tx in advance Panni for your help, complete novice , how do i install the 0.8.0 beta (and if enabling seek fix is not obvious let me know how to do that if you dont mind)

Install this: PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+) - #3820 by panni

Then enter PM4K, click on your user, settings, Main → enable “Use alternate seek”.

Edit: There shouldn’t be any need to use “Use alternate seek” on your Cube, though. Are you using Passthrough audio? If so, what’s your Kodi passthrough device set to?

Kodi audio passthrough is on and have capable receiver so all audio options checked. Passthrough output device (went with recommended IEC packer)

on Cube - Display and Audio HDMI input passthrough ON and audio surround sound set to best available.

Hmm, interesting. Did upgrading to 0.8.0-beta help? (With the alternate seek toggle)

I have no idea how to install on kodi without adding source so not sure how to install the zip file you directed me too.

Edit: All of this is easily googlable btw.

@panni. I don’t think I’ve posted in this thread before. I use this add-on and just wanted to say how much I appreciate it. I think it might be the best client for Plex right now.

You never ignore your users.

Thanks for your dedication.

It is without a doubt the best Plex player, especially for power users. All other players have branching issues with select 4k bluray titles. You also can’t adjust subtitle height which is crucial for home theater projector users. I honestly don’t know what I would use if this project didn’t exist.

I am also worried where Plex is going, not fixing anything in their trash native app at all. Their new beta preview app doesn’t fix a single issue, I don’t even understand the existance of that thing. In some aspects it is even worse, didn’t know that was possible.

Basic playback of branching movies is still not working, and like I mentioned, still no subtitle adjustment, but they focus on useless stuff that nobody wants. Hopefully they don’t break PM4K functionality, like blocking some crucial API.

I hope they never even figure out this project exists and how much more advanced it is, because I feel like they will break it just because it is that much better than their native offering. 1 guy is maintaining this project for free, while entire Plex team on payroll can’t fix their trash app for 5 years already.

I mean hell, if I have an idea about this app, like some new feature, I suggest it here, and if panni agrees, he implements it in the next beta branch in few hours/days. It is crazy.

The only time where native app is better, is on phones and tablets, because touchscreen in PM4K is bad. But I think this is a Kodi problem, so nothing that can be done here.

I can confirm, my audio out of sync is not caused by PM4K, i tested other add on’s ie plex kodi connect and had the same issue… done with fire tv cube with kodi, will try PM4K kodi on other devices

Wait, which Kodi version are you using? I’ve just stumbled across this: Reddit - Dive into anything which is basically the same issue you have with the same device.

Edit: I’ve just seen your post in there, never mind

Edit 2: Found something: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=371883&page=30 and AESinkAudioTrack: Superviseaudiodelay increase success probability by fritsch · Pull Request #26142 · xbmc/xbmc · GitHub

The fix (which needs superviseaudiodelay (doc: https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=376161) is apparently in any omega nightly built in the last four weeks. I’d try the [kodinerds maven Piers (22) build](Kodinerds Addon Repo 7.0.1.7, 202502160114-2a99958b), it should have the fix in there.

Thanks panni for the unbelievable work on this. I’ve just got CoreELEC up and running on an AM6B and it looks amazing. I have been using the official Plex Client for some time now so this reminds me of the Plex before they went with a “2.0” client totally rebuilt from the ground up (which I hated at first but then got used to). I am excited to see the Watchlist feature get built in! Any desire to add in the “Recommended” tab for libraries?

Again, thanks for the work!

Funny I had frequent audio sync issues on Ugoos the last few weeks. Disabled alt seek a week ago and didn’t have issue since doing that.

Tx for the help with Kodi FireTV Panni, your help has been much appreciated!

I will check out the nightly build.

On a side note, I decided to setup PM4K on shield, and it’s working great.

I do have one question about PM4K Virtual Chapters. Currently in PM4K playback settings I have SHOW VIDEO CHAPTERS and USE VIRTUAL CHAPTERS both checked.

  • I assume having chapter images for media in PM4K is 100% dependent on the plex library settings ?

My current Plex library chapters thumbnails settings are turned off but I am getting chapter images on occasion in PM4K which I was not expecting.

When I do get chapter images in PM4K , I see “Combined chapters” on some media
