PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

Yes.

Maybe Plex generates those for intro/credits markers. Virtual chapters are based on those, so if you always see images on those chapters, it’s probably that. It’s also possible the media files have those in there as an attachment, but I’m not sure we/Plex’d be using those (or if it’s even possible, never looked into that).

The Alt seek fix might be temporarily necessary or not at all based on the build you’re using. The Ugoos has a broken audio handler as it seems (according to the link I’ve posted above from fritsch), maybe it’s fixed in later versions or doesn’t occur on your setup. It’s still safe to assume enabled by default for CoreELEC, at least until someone tells me otherwise or we have a version number that’s known to have fixed this.

Hey Panni, don’t suppose you managed to look into the “Recently Added” per library anymore then before? I know watchlist is the priority for 0.8.0 release just wondering.

Not really, no. I gotta try and keep my focus so 0.8.0 doesn’t stay in beta forever, sorry

Interesting, I actually didn’t know it was on by default. So last night I turned it off and so far seems to fix some recent audio sync issues for me on Ugoos AM6B+. Especially for Dolby Vision profile 7 + Atmos TrueHD files.

I’ll have to look into that. I just upgraded to CE21.2 stable and turning off that setting seems to have fixed my audio sync issues “so far”. My crimson peak 4K blu ray for example had horrid audio sync issues before, and that worked perfectly for me last night during testing.

Only consequence when disabling altbseek is that sometimes there’s a slight delay before the audio kicks in when starting a media file. But for me that’s less of an issue than out of sync audio.

Well, the original issue the Alternate seek fix was for, was that after seeking (or resuming, which is seeking in Direct Play), there could be a time where only a picture is displayed but no audio (for up to several seconds).

This, yeah.

Edit: I’d try using the fix from fritsch for both use cases (e.g. superviseaudiodelay)

This is what I have been waiting for. Would be a nice feature to have

I uncovered the cause of a bug that I’ve been trying to root out for a while. On occasion I would notice the playback session disappear from the Dashboard on Plex and stop registering in Tautulli.

The other day I setup some automations in Home Assistant to adjust lighting on pause and playback events. This unexpectedly led me to figuring out the cause of this issue.

The automations are set to dim my theater rooms light on a playback or resume event and raise them on a pause or stop. This is done using the MQTT notification feature on Tautulli.

I noticed when I turned on subtitles the lights would come on. Looking at the MQTT log I noticed Taitulli was firing off a stopped playback and started playback notification when I turned the subs on. It’s kind of sporadic what messages it sends. I think it’s because the state is getting changed so quickly. Sometimes it will leave the Tautulli state registered as paused, while it continues to play on my device.

The neat thing about the light automation is I can actually tell when the session drops from Tautulli/Plex. The lights will suddenly come on while I’m not interacting with the device at all, playback will continue. I can then still play and pause the video, but the session will not pick back up. To pick the session back up I have to fully exit playback and restart. My resume point will be at whatever point the lights raised. I’ve discovered the session will only drop if I have turned subtitles on or off during playback, and not until quite a while later. That’s what made it so difficult to pin down. It only happens when I’m messing with subs, and until now I had no indication when it happened unless I was sitting there watching the dashboard.

I also get some light changes when seeking forward or back, meaning Plex is getting a playback stopped event at some point when I’m just seeking around.

For what it’s worth I don’t see any of these issues if I use PKC to play the files directly from Kodi.

Let me know what details and information I can provide to help with this. My player is the Ugoos. I’m currently on CPM A13, but I’ve been having this dropped session issue for many months across various releases, both CoreElec and CPM.

Sounds like part of the Alternate seek fix. Can you try disabling that and see if it fixes it?

Are you sure this happens when changing subs, or actually with changing audio streams?

Edit: Oh, I may have found something. We actually send the pause immediately after a meaningful video setting changed (e.g. changed audio or switched from external to embedded subtitle or vice versa), then the resume gets sent right after the seek. I’ll send you a test build via DM.

Just installed PM4K on my FireCube 3. I am running Kodi 20.1. Nice and smooth and finally lossless audio for DTS from my Media. One problem. My Live TV option is not available. Anyone know what I can tweak to have this as an option? The rest of my library is showing up just fine (recorded shows etc).

Keith, I’m fairly certain that this has been asked about before. PM4K does not support live TV from a Plex server and there’s no appetite to introduce it. If I’m wrong, and I often am, I’m certain that panni will correct me. Suggest you have a search to see if you can find what’s been said before.

I sure hope none of the extra crap they’ve introduced, makes its way in.

Anyone’s welcome to contribute, anything can be optional

I’m pretty sure Keith was referring to his own Live (OTA) TV and DVR setup, hence him mentioning his “recorded shows” appearing in his regular libraries.

He wasn’t talking about wanting Plex’s FAST service in PM4K.

Thanks, I appreciate that. I do see that now. Really loving the PM4K and glad I discovered it. Kept me from getting rid of my FireCube 3 and buying the NVIDIA Shield. I can just use the regular Plex for my OTA stuff. No biggie.

Welcome to the club Keith and thanks for the acknowledgement. If you check out my posts you’ll see that I’m a big fan too. It’s remarkable what panni’s achieved with this.

It’s such a great addon, but I miss my watchlist (Merkliste) and movie collections (Film Sammlungen) folder.

Collections are viewable. In the Movies tab you can switch from Movies to Collections.

I’m only seeing recently added
