PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

The broken setting is that setting (the third one). Its label will be visible once you restart Kodi properly.

Edit: Or something else is broken or caches something. No idea. I have no control over this.

This is after a full reboot. I’ll just restart kodi now and see. But that would make zero sense.

Edited my answer

If you can’t fix it, you should be able to just activate that broken-label setting. There’s no difference, functionally.

Have you tried to deinstall, delete data and reinstallation?

And he smells his opportunity

I don’t have the option to only restart kodi. I did another full reboot and it shows now. So just took two reboots.

It doesn’t belong here, but we’re currently talking about the settings.

Does anyone know if it’s possible to get Kodi to stay in the settings instead of home?

So if I’m in the settings and press the back button on my remote control once too often, i get to the home screen.

Is there any way to prevent this?

Please don’t write:
Don’t press back too often!

Probably not. That’d mean for Kodi to have a mode where it doesn’t respect its own Window management. You could achieve that with a custom key management util, but I don’t know whether you can do that easily.

Edit: E.g. you’d have to implement keybindings that are aware of the current window. It’s probably possible with scripting and rebinding your back key.

Damn… But thanks for the info!

Again: It’s possible. You’ll probably want to look at https://kodi.wiki/view/Add-on:Keymap_Editor.

Wow, that was quick! :grinning:

-Triggered the PM4K beta update
-Rebooted
-Exited to CoreELEC after auto-starting into PM4K
-Applied the ā€˜Always auto-start’ PM4K add-on setting and set the CoreELEC startup window to ā€˜Settings’
-ā€˜Restart Kodi’

Success! Behaving as expected for me, and does seem to improve the start-up time as the setting description mentions, unless I’m just imagining things after having read it, haha.

Thank you for the update, panni!

I’m coming up blank trying to find you on kofi

Awesome!

You’re not. It seems to take Kodi a little time to report its current window ID to be accessible from PM4K. As that setting causes us to ignore the window state, it’s possible that the auto-start happens faster than normal.

Ah ha I was searching panni

Thinking about making this setting a default. Any objections?

Really no reason not to. Pretty sure everyone is just running the boxes for the same exclusive reason
