PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

If we’re talking just the add-on setting, I don’t see why not - especially with the added mentioned benefit of faster auto-starts.

Personally speaking as someone who was using both PM4K and CoreELEC with fresh eyes, when I saw “Start Plex On Kodi Startup” as a setting, my interpretation was that it would trigger a launch of PM4K from wherever CoreELEC happens to be starting from - just as this setting behaves.

@panni

Thanks for the link (Keymap Editor).

I will take a look into this.

I am a new user and enjoy this software, just a quick question on the shield it seems start with kodi is hit or miss, i just open kodi on the shield and sometimes it will auto load this program, other times nothing happens.

Apologies if this has been discussed.

It doesn’t auto start by default if you navigate away from home. It should, once you’re back on home, though.

The latest beta has an AddonSetting for that.

@panni possible to get updated CPM skin? thanks

One tiny UI bug I’m seeing in the Plexuary CPM skin on A11 (and A13/14, but I know these are unsupported at the moment):

After selecting media and going to the details screen before playing, there is a thin black line across the screen between the progress bar and the actor/actress credits photos (or season art, in the case of TV series) which persists briefly until the photos or art is fully displayed.

This line will show up whether or not there’s progress in the media (plexuary02.jpg) or if ‘Show dynamic background art’ is selected in the PM4K add-on settings (plexuary03.jpg).

Yeah I always stay on home sometimes it starts sometimes not on the shield.

Might be a dumb question but how do I install the beta on the shield?

Then find the right folder and replace your PM4K installation as per the readme/first post.

I’ll take a look!

I’ll be on CPM A14 with CPM 14 Skin Arctic Zephyr Mod and I use Plex Kodi Connect, also PM4K with Ugoos AM6B Plus and UR02. All is working fine.

Once again, i gotta ask - if anyone can advise.
For CPM CoreElec (running A14 now) + PM4K on AM6b+
Best cache settings within the PM4K settings would be?

Thank you

64MB/Adaptive works no problem.

Kind of a loaded question but im guessing this might be more a kodi/shield issue, but i really have not used kodi outside this addon.

The odd time on a truehd/atmos 4k blu ray remux I will get an awful static noise out of my speakers using passthrough.

Never happened with official plex app on shield but im not sure if thats more a kodi thing.

I got the beta installed on the nvidia shield, sadly the new option after enabled still didnt fix the inconsistent auto start option on the shield. I notice if i dont quit kodi through the addon and just minimize it and quit kodi through the kodi UI i have a better chance of it autostarting on the shield. But typically I like to shutdown kodi from the app as well.

Interesting. I’d need DEBUG logs in that case (via DM).

This is usually fine.

That’s a Kodi/SHIELD issue. I haven’t noticed that anymore with the latest SHIELD stable update, though (using Kodi 21.2 from maven’s builds). I’m using this in advancedsettings:

  <audio>
  	<maxpassthroughoffsyncduration>50</maxpassthroughoffsyncduration>
    <allowmultichannelfloat>true</allowmultichannelfloat>
  </audio>

I have to say it’s REALLY crappy that the Coreelec team can just take the ball and go home. No warning, no alternative. Things like this really show how vulnerable and dependent so many cool projects are on so few or one person in the world. I don’t like that.

Wait, whaaaat?

I haven’t checked in on the latest CoreElec stuff in a while… What happened?

The comments like yours are not helping. The team got a lot of undeserved criticism, it’s sad that it’s gotten to this, but I’m not surprised.

I’m an avid follower of the CoreElec forum, can assure you nobody was criticizing them.

I didn’t make any comments whatsoever and I don’t know anything about why this happened. If you mean what I just said now, that’s simple truth.
