PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

seemed to work fine from repository, which was selected initially. I changed it to stable but noticed it had already updated to 1.05D. Thanks again Panni

Yeah that’s kodi doing the updates. That’ll work as well.

Nevermind. I just tested against the AppleTV app, it’s exactly the same so not a player variable.

WDYM? I can still do better than the native apps, haven’t I shown that already?

So a question about genres/categories. I know you can filter by them but would it be possible to have PM4K display a grid of all the different genres instead of selecting from a filter (similar to what the Plex clients do?)

Possibly. I haven’t looked at a native Plex client for a long time apart from Plex Web and Desktop. Care to provide a screenshot?

This is how it looks on mobile but I’m sure you can imagine it’s similar on a TV (too late at night to turn the TV on lol). Not sure where Plex stores the images for each genre - they seem to be made based on what movies you have in a genre.

Here’s how it looks on the web app. I suppose I could create smart collections to get the same thing, but I don’t like combining collections with genres as I consider them 2 separate things. I think it could be another dropdown in PM4K (along with Collections). Juts not sure how easy it would be to present it in a nice visual format?

Hi panni, Happy Halloween
got 1.0.5d installed with the Ugoos AM6b+. Hope you don’t mind that I post a couple of (possible) minor bugs and some questions

  1. Progress bar doesn’t go back down to zero after deleting previous episode - I tend to watch and then delete each episode as I make my way through a series season. I noticed that when I delete the episode I just watched and the view switches to the next episode the progress bar (long yellow line) does not go back down to nothing (zero). In the pic you can see that I just deleted S01E02 and haven’t started E03 yet because the E03 spoilers are still blurred. Yet the progress bar is still all the way lengthened to the right as if I had watched it.

  1. In settings - “At final marker position” is listed twice

  1. A friendly request if there are no objections  As I said I watch & delete everything I watch which always involves much cursoring (arrowing around) to get to the delete button after finishing an ep. Could there be a possible way to shorten the method used to get to the delete button such as perhaps relocating the delete button all the way to top of the vertical “3-dot” list or at least stick it all the way on the bottom? Just something I thought I would ask about

  1. I could have sworn that I read somewhere in this huge thread that your new version(s) would have the capability to see the actors’ biography & videography when we click on them exactly like how we get when using the official android plex app. Is this not true? Because all I see when I click on each actor is whatever else (movie or series) I may have from this actor on my server.

Thanks much for your time

@panni

possible to get updated CPM skin? thank you.

Panni maybe a short review of Ugoos AM6B+? How do you like it? Is there a big speed difference compared to Nvidia Shield TV Pro 2019? Did you discover any major bugs or shortcomings now that you can test the hardware in hand.

And lastly, would you still recommend Shield to power users or is AM6B+ a better choice now.

people have been using the AM6B+ with CoreELEC/CPM for a long time now, for pure blu-ray media playback it’s much better than the Shield, can do more like playback DV FEL on Samsung TVs, no issues whatsoever.

I replaced 4 Shield Pro for AM6B+ (two for myself, one as backup) and three Homatics Box R 4K Plus got them for cheap as they also can run CoreELEC/CPM and still have certified Android TV if that is something people need, otherwise AM6B+ does have better performance.

The Ugoos has always, been the best choice for performance. My shield was retired the day it arrived.

In short: The difference is massive. It’s more fiddly and I wouldn’t recommend it for everybody, but if you want to arrive at a 100% no-f*cks-given setup, the Ugoos with NFSv4 kernel streaming is insanely good.

If you have a good TV for upscaling (forget the Ugoos upscaler), this is the way to go.

I rarely see anything above 30% memory usage and the SOC is basically idling all the time. The SHIELD is decent if you debloat and/or downgrade it, but it’s still going to be finicky in terms of memory usage.

Thanks, I’ll set a reminder and will get back to you once I’m available again!
