PM4K / PlexMod for Kodi (18, 19, 20, 21, 22+)

I don’t think that’ll work, all skin references are relative to the addon.

Edit: You could perhaps symlink the skin directory to somewhere else.

That’s a good idea but every-time, i have to delete the links in order to return back to default skin. (No problem, I will try in my free time)

@panni How can we do this tint all your main textures a red colour, and create a new theme package Red.xbt, can https://kodi.wiki/view/Skinning_Manual#Skin_Themes
Edit: I think they refer it to do it manually for individual texture files for main textures.

Thanks a lot!

Kodi doesn’t support textures.xbt for addons. Only for separate skins. I’ve posted about this on the kodi forums a while back. They also don’t support includes, which is kind of a bummer.

OK guys, I think we’re in a good place for a stable release this weekend.

There have been a couple of smaller changes compared to beta13, here’s 0.7.4-prerelease1: script.plexmod.zip (3.5 MB)

Please test for general stability and playback issues.

So far so good - everything working (music, videos, player, UI etc.). Will test further tomorrow.

Currently enjoying my - now complete - music library with no more missing albums on artist pages❤️

No issues with the 0.7.4-prerelease1 besides my previously mentioned cast cropping bug, which actually seems to be okay in this version on my Nvidia Shield. TV shows that previously had their cast lists cropped in their “Season” pages aren’t cropped anymore, with the exception of shows with character names containing letters like “J” and “Y”.

e.g. (Had to photograph my TV as screenshots don’t work on my Nvidia Shield. These names are still cropped in half on desktop though.)

0.7.4-prerelease2: script.plexmod.zip (3.5 MB)

A couple of noteworthy changes to test:

  • episodes/seasons view has been rearranged (more towards official clients, same as with the last release’s changes to movies, thanks @bowlingbeeg) (@THGhost please check if the cast names are still cut off for J and Y)
  • some player/seekdialog optimizations
  • Player/Seekdialog: DirectPlay: Show additional cumulative parts time on multi part videos

Question (don’t know if technically possible): Would it be possible to have also a setting to close / shutdown kodi when exiting the addon? Best way would be maybe another button in the “Beenden bestätigen” (confirm exit?) box.
A really special / nice to have feature request  But would be a good thing from usability perspective. What do you think?

That’s relatively simple to implement. Not sure how usable that would be, though. Do you never want to be able to exit to kodi and adjust a setting? Or another exit option that says “exit PM4K and kodi”?

I like that one as sometimes i do want to make adjustments in kodi setting.

I didn’t provide feedback for the betas because I simply can’t keep up with your amazing development speed.

However, I would like to inform that 0.7.4-prerelease2 seems to work well on OSMC. Even better than the previous stable release 0.7.3-rev2, I dare to say, from the little I’ve tried so far.

Thank you, once again.

Hmm. Then there’s the problem of how to arrange those buttons, as someone might prefer exit kodi as the first one, and another might not.

Other than giving you complete freedom for this (and blowing the complexity up by a metric ton), how about we add long press OK/ENTER support to switch what the exit button does? (would need to investigate whether that’s possible) The only setting we’d need would be which would be the default value of the exit button on the exit dialog.

Perhaps a system setting check box below “start plex on kodi startup” to determine the preferred default would work if the long press isn’t doable.

I’ve checked a whole bunch of shows and they all look fine now. I guess moving the cast list up fixed it. I think having the cast list where it is now also looks much better and makes more sense. No more issues on my end now :+1:

As 20.3 was released 2 days ago, so i thought why not try the maven version for nexus.
I observed kodi default seek bar while seeking through shows and movies instead of the default skin. I thought there is no plexuary skin in nexus so I dint reported. Also some of the show videos don’t open in 1st try and the whole PM4K with Kodi gets freeze.
I haven’t tried in kodi omega (beta), I will try to replicate it in the omega later today.

Thanks for the new release

Same :+1:t2: Checkbox setting for exit behavior or another button / long press option in confirm exit menu is a suitable way for me. I’m flexible in that regards

There should be a plextuary for every supported version. Did I mess something up?
Edit: I think I misunderstood - the Kodi skin should never show, even without plextuary installed. If it does, something is wrong and I need logs.

Logs? And can you reproduce this with prerelease1 or 0.7.3-rev2?

Sorry, I haven’t tried Nexus from a long time, just tried yesterday. But will try to replicate it in Omega also will try 0.7.3-rev2 in kodi nexus
