EDIT: I should clarify this. I was referring to the “official” PfK add-on working with OSMC and not having an issue with HDR when used on the Vero4K player. I have not yet tried these dev builds.
I do have another question though since I’ve never done this outside the official repositories. How do you install these builds on a system (I’m using OSMC in this case) when they are not in the repository? Right now I’m running the official v.21.
Can the zip file be uploaded via SSH/WinSCP/etc to a folder on the Kodi installation to install it? If so how do you do that?
Download either via SSH or upload in any way you want, to the kodi addons folder (remove the old release), unpack, restart kodi, disable auto updates on the addon.
If you want to stay on my branches, you can also git clone my repository into the addons directory, checkout the branch you want and update in the future using git pull.
Edit: I’ve added a couple of commits to the develop branches recently. Some fixes and:
add advanced option to not directly play a video from a video Playlist, instead open the video detail window (on by default)
add progress bars to video Playlist videos
fix Playlists accessed from the home screen are clamped to 6 items
Have a question regarding switching frame rate and resolution to source values. Is Plex for kodi supporting this ? I see that the resolution keeps all time at the setting of the Kodi GUI output. I have an AVR with upscaling function, would like to use that feature.
That’s a Kodi limitation I think. You need to adjust the non-processed-resolution combinations in your Kodi settings (I think it’s called resolution whitelist or something), whitelist all the resolutions you want your upscaler to handle instead of Kodi itself.
In the following constellation my Plex Plugin doesn’t find my server. It doesn’t show my content und says “connection test running” (or something like this) the whole time.
Kodi 19 beta 2
Plugin develop_kodi19
Plex-Server in the same network (no problems with Kodi 18 and the old Plugin)
Kodi 19 build cannot load, same as official build.
Kodi 19 dev loads on Matrix but cannot open any ‘TV Shows’ or navigate menus in this tab. Movies and other videos are ok, can load and navigate. I need Dolby Vision playback for MKV which works on Plex android app but not Kodi 18. I use Shield Pro 2019, latest OS.
I can’t confirm that. With the same versions I still get the “Server is not available” error. Plex can’t connect to my server. With kodi 18.9 and the old addon it works very good.
Thank you for this one!
It works well on Kodi Matrix and finally allows me to fully enjoy Plex on my Android TV. The native Plex player application frequently stutters on content and it doesn’t like most x265 content.
With the plugin, I can finally browse and watch my content in one application like I wanted to!
I only have one question: Does it support Plex collections?
Have a strange behaviour of the player, starting a movie the first 3-5 minutes nothing happening, then it is working normal (but I hear heavy load of the CPU). This started just yesterday and happens now with every movie I’m playing. Plex media players don’t show the problem. Any idea what could be the cause for this ?
I checked further: within this 3-5 minutes there is an extreme network load and later also to local drive. The time period depends also on the file size. For smaller video files only 10-20 seconds. For 4K HDR it takes for ever…
sorry for my English. I am using a translator. I would like to know if there is any version of plex that works on kodi 19, since the addon that can be downloaded from the kodi repository does not work. gives an error in the log. would it be for kodi beta 2? thanks for the great work
