PMP Audio Passthrough not working - Can't find settings

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

I noticed that the latest version of PMP isn’t doing DTS passthrough like it used to. I’ve been trying to find the settings to change this but I can’t find the settings anywhere in PMP. I know I have to be in TV Mode, but there is no link or button access the settings that I can find. Is there a keyboard shortcut?

TV Mode -> Click on your username -> Settings -> Audio

Thanks for replying. Nothing happens when I click the username.

Make sure you have the latest version: Plex Media Player - #88 by pcalves
Reboot your PC after installation.

Other than that, not sure. It worked for me.

Here’s a cropped screenshot of what you should see when you click on your username.

Thanks for your help. Sadly it didn’t solve my problem. When I click the user icon it then highlights the search icon, and nothing happens when I click the user icon. I also have a different issue now where the icons for Movies and TV are just a spinning wheel.

I also can’t exit PMP anymore, I used be able to either hit ESC or the home button on my remote and it would ask if I want to close, now I have to press Command+q.

Maybe remove PMP from list of Authorized Devices, then re-authorize?

  • Launch PMP, change to Desktop Mode, Quit PMP
  • Using Plex Web, go to Settings -> Authorized Devices -> HTPC (https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/devices/pht)
  • Remove PMP from list of authorized devices
  • Launch PMP and re-login/authorize
  • Change to TV Mode

I then click/select my username and it pulls up the Switch User / Settings / etc screen I previously attached.

Also, I don’t think you should have to be in Desktop Mode to re-authorize, but it worked better that way when I tried it.

Hmm, when I go to that link I don’t see PMP in my devices list. Probably because I don’t use Plex with an account? I just checked Plex Media Server and I don’t see “Authorized Devices” there.

  1. Completely uninstall Plex Media Player from your computer.
  2. Restart the computer.
  3. In a browser, open the hosted web app https://app.plex.tv/desktop and sign in so that you can see your Plex Server and libraries and videos.
  4. Install Plex Media Player-2.43.0.1015 from the link on the forums.
  5. Start PMP and click the sign in button that looks like this:
  6. When you click that, it will switch you to your web browser.
  7. Because you already signed in to your browser in step (3), you will only have to click once more to sign in to Plex Media Player without having to enter in user:pass.

Tell me if that works. It does for me.
