PMP versions.....I'm confused......

Periodically I get an email about a new version of PMP. Today @markus101 sent an email about the new version “1.3.10”

So I trot over to my PC and look at the version I currently have installed it says “Version 3.20.6”

I look at the Plex Pass downloads on the website and it shows a version of “2.1.1.703-79cdfa5c” date 9/25.

What am I missing here?

1.3.10 is the latest public release of Plex Media Player (PMP).
2.1.1 is the latest Beta release of PMP with the v2 TV UI.
3.20.6 is the version of the desktop web app within PMP 1.3.9.
3.21.2 is the version of the desktop web app within PMP 1.3.10.

OK, thanks. So what you’re saying is that the v1.X releases that are announced are the NON-Plex pass version and I should disregard them?

Depends if you use the TV mode and which version you want. If you don’t care or want the beta TV UI using the 2.x beta releases is fine, if you want the current TV UI then you’ll need to use a 1.x release.

I’m fine with the 2.X versions. I don’t have the issues that some have reported like crashing etc. I just didn’t understand the differing versioning.

Thanks!
