PMS: 2 libraries, 1 folder - moving media between them

A search didn’t turn up anything.

I have 2 libraries looking at 1 folder. Library #1 is for TV series, #2 for movies.

This works out fine 99% of the time. But sometimes media is identified in both folders, while at other times it is picked up in the wrong library. Say a series is listed in the movies library or vice versa.

Is there any way I can do a ‘soft’ move from one library to the other or telling it to not index in one library but only in the other without deleting or moving the actual files on the server itself?

If somebody has a suggestion I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

No, you are holding it wrong.

Cleanly separate your media into different folders. Don’t have it shared among libraries.

Yeah, most media player like plex works best with the bare minimum of separating Movies & Shows into separate folders, even if you don’t separate the files into their own individual folders. You could painstakingly manually sort the media inside the software, but it would be a long tedious process as you’ve probably found out by now.
I’m curious as to the reason you say you can’t do that.
