I created a music collection consisting only of FLAC 5.1 music. I can play all my music via the DLNA app on my OPPO BD-103 without any issues. However, I don’t like the human interface.
I bought a LG 43UN7300 4K UHD Smart LED TV because I like the DLNA interface with the magic remote on it better. The problem is the music only plays as 2-channel stereo. When I play a Netflix movie or Prime Video movie with 5.1 surround sound it plays perfect with multichannel sound (no problem).
Is there something I need to set either on the PLEX Media Server or the LG TV for my music to play correctly?
Audio for movies and audio for music are different, so you can’t compare them. It’s possible PMS doesn’t understand what your TV is capable of so it’s using a default profile. Search the forums for info on custom DLNA profiles. That should help.
