PMS and Plex Home Not Syncing Managed Users

Server Version#: 1.112.0.359-0d79a49f
Player Version#: Unknown

I’m trying to create a Home under Plex but my server is only recognising my admin account. I created new “managed user” accounts for my children and set them up with library access, however, when switching to them it says they are “not authorized” to access my Plex server. They appear in /api/v2/server/users but they are absent from /api/v2/server/access_tokens. I have restarted the server numerous times and done refreshes but they are still not showing up with tokens so cannot access on any client.

Working with AI on troubleshooting this has resulted in needing to log a ticket under “plex.tv/contact” but that feature seems to have been removed for getting technical support, so I’m hoping someone can assist me with this. I have a yearly Plex Pass subscription and all my checks have come back without finding the issue, which appears to be a bug at the plex.tv side which is preventing the access tokens to be returned to my server when the PMS service starts up

"HTTP/1.1 200 response from GET https://plex.tv/api/v2/server/access_tokens
MyPlex: updating with 11 access tokens ← still 11, should be incremented to factor in new tokens for managed users
HTTP/1.1 200 response from GET https://plex.tv/api/v2/server/users ← 200 OK

plex.tv is responding successfully but is not returning user’s token in the server’s authorised user list. The server is doing everything correctly — plex.tv simply isn’t including them."

A managed user is not a real account

Logon as your self, and then within the player you can switch user to the desired managed user

@dane22 I do that and then go to my home server where it says “Not authorised. You do not have access to this server”

This is the issue I’m trying to resolve

My guess is then that your server lost connection with plex.tv, and needs to be reclaimed
After doing so, make sure your managed users access is still present for the libraries

Tried to do that by logging out of all devices, restarting server, disabling and enabling Remote Access for server. If there is another way to do this then please advise and I will try that. Remote Access specifies the server is “Fully accessible outside your network”

Hmm, try and remove access for a managed user, wait 2 min and then add back
If still the same, then I’ll need a zip with the server logs

I’ve been at this for the afternoon, removing and recreating managed users over and over again. Sometimes with content restrictions, sometimes with no restrictions as libraries that choosing to share contain only child-friendly media. So far nothing is working so will look to obtain server logs

EDIT: server logs attached

According to this found in other post from last year this is something known to happen with the version of Plex server I have running. Little information online and nothing in the way of communication around this. So will attempt upgrade of server and validate if finally working after

Heh, I was just about to say that the version you are running was released over an year ago

Yep, after an update the managed users are now working

And FYI, this was done to protect you due to a security issue, allowing only the owner access to streaming
