Server Version#:1.26.2.5797-7000
Player Version#: web, android plexamp 4.2.2
For the past two weeks or more, PMS continues to automatically stop.
Restarting the PMS service only last a minute or two before it then stops again.
Any help would be appreciated as I’m currently unable to use the service which is a real bummer.
Thanks in advance
Dan
com.plexapp.system.log (33.9 KB)
you need to pull the server log.
Plex Media Server.log (679.5 KB)
Thanks
Hopefully this is the right one as I had to manually locate it
Cheers
did you truncate this some how? this is a log for 2 minutes of time from yesterday. Maybe just zip the entire log folder and provide per the instructions in the link from my post.
I’ve no idea actually
I’ve attached the entire log folder minus the PMS plugins log folder as the zip files was over 30mb
Thanks
Logs.zip (10.1 MB)
and here’s the pms plugins log folder
PMS Plugin Logs.zip (19.9 MB)
I see where something has failed right after starting music.

I can’t figure out whether it is music or creating posters.
Have you considered trying a different PMS version?
The issue got worse after attempting to edit the filters on a manually created playlist in plexamp. Before then it would stop every so often but now it happens instantly when playing music.
Just to confirm, are you suggesting I revert back to an older PMS version?
Thanks
Hi guys,
Is there any further help I can get here. I’m still unable to use plex
Cheers
Sorry for the delay.
Yes, I would back down one version and see if there is any difference.
Also, you might need to delete that playlist and recreate it.
(I don’t use a lot of music so am not an authority on this)
I’ve just tried to roll back and received the following pop up in Synology DMS
“Current package version is 1.26.2.5795-7000. You cannot roll back to the older version 1.26.1.5798-7000”
I also ran PMS and quickly tried to remove the playlist in question but received the pop up in the attached. (this was thru the web player)
Shortly after that, PMS stopped before I could try again.

Could it be a memory issue on my Synology disks? I’m close to max capacity on them (79%)
Thanks again
@whatisrouter
On Synology you must uninstall (KEEP option) first.
Once uninstalled (the code is removed – but the data is kept) you can install the lower version.
(Synology does not support Downgrade-overwrite)
ok thanks
I’ve just uninstalled and reinstalled the older version but the problem is still there
As soon as I try to play media the server stops
Is there anything else I can try?
Now manually make a ZIP file of the logs directory.
Download to your computer.
Attach it here please.
I will inspect.
Logs.zip (24.6 MB)
thank you sir
This is also a copy of the logs that I zipped within the NAS before downloading… just incase
Logs (1).zip (2.4 MB)
@whatisrouter
Thanks for those logs.
You have so much music being monitored (folders) that PMS hasn’t finished initializing when you grab the logs.
Because of this, I can’t tell what happens after initialization is complete.
Would you mind doing the following?
- Optimize the database – Allow that to complete before proceeding.
- Restart Plex
- Let it sit completely idle for at least 5 minutes (Prefer 10 if you can).
- Download the logs ZIP from PMS
–OR–
a. Stop PMS
b. Make a ZIP of the Logs directory again
- Attach here.
Thanks
Is there a way to optimize the database without PMS running? I’ve tried navigating to optimize it but the server stops before I get there. It’s now automatically stopping after 10-15 seconds
The logs uploaded earlier we’re also downloaded whilst PMS was stopped
