hi, i needed to reinstall plex on my synology nas after replacing an hdd.
i reinstall plex media server and of course backup the plexmediaserver folder with the appdata.
i tried to set the old appdata in the new plexmediaserver folder but the hen i login i don’t see my server.
my question is, how to restaure my old server on my nas to avoid reindex all?
Do not start Plex Media Server after repairing permissions.
You have 1.41.5 installed. Running it will perform unnecessary database migration tasks. It probably will not hurt anything, but there is no need to risk it.
Login to Plex Media Server
From a system on the same network as the NAS, point a browser at http://192.168.0.253:32400/web (use https if needed). You should be able to login and reach server settings. Make sure the server is claimed (Settings → server_name → General).
That should get you up and running. If it does not, report back with info on where things fail.
i just search plex and installed the plex media server from the synology app store, so th eone in the synology app store isn’t good?
i look your link to fix shared folder, the one i use was automatically created when i installed plex media server from synology app store. and he’s here: /volume1/PlexMediaServer
i say this because on your link it’s write : cd /var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer maybe it’s normal i don’t know so i prefer ask
my synology nas is under dsm è and it’s a ds218+ for info
Unfortunately, Synology is very slow to update the version in their app store.
There is nothing wrong with 1.41.5, other than it is outdated.
Your NAS was running v1.42.0 in July.
From Plex Media Server.log:

It is better to move forward to the current public version, 1.42.2, than move backward to 1.41.5.
Some people have the Plex Data Folder on other volumes, /volume2, /volume3, etc.
/var/packages/PlexMediaServer/shares/PlexMediaServer always points to the right volume. Synology DSM keeps track and adjusts as needed.
By using /var/packages/..., people with the Plex Data Folder on a different volume do not have to edit anything. They can just copy/paste the commands directly from the FAQ.
You do not have to uninstall the old version first. You can install 1.42.2 on top of 1.41.5. The Plex installer will remove 1.41.5 before installing 1.42.2.
changing rights on folder and his content should be fast but i don’t receive any email and no info if task is still running or not but cpu of my nas is at 99% since this script
I noticed this in the log files. Look at it after Plex is up and running. It won’t keep Plex from running, but it might affect which clients can access Plex.
There is a typographical error in Settings → Network → List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth
I didn’t think it would take very long, since the database was previously at 1.42.0, so going to 1.42.2 should not have too many updates.
The log files did not have any signs of database corruption, so that is not a worry either.
Question: How large is the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db file? It is in /PlexMediaServer/AppData/Plex Media Server/Plug-in Support/Databases.
If it is 10s or 100s of GB, then let things run.
If it is 10s or 100s of MB, then I’m surprised it has not finished. You could wait overnight (it won’t hurt), or just give it another hour. If it has not finished, then stop Plex and post a new set of log files.
