PMS crashing on rebuilding sonic index

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319
Player Version#: 4.72.0

Good morning,

as the title suggests my PMS is force closing every time it tries to rebuild the index for the sonic analysis.

This happens every time the scheduled tasks come to an end and the indexes are rebuilt.

Please see the logs attached.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

How much free space is left on drive F: ?

Can you monitor the amount of free space on drive F: during the scheduled server maintenance?

Did you add new items into any of your libraries during the scheduled server maintenance?

Hey there Otto, thanks for chiming in.

It’s a 4TB SSD dedicated for Plex metadata, ~300GB used, rest is free.

I could, but is it very likely that 3TB of space is not enough?

Yes, I did! It has something to do with that, you think? I’m using Sonarr/Lidarr/Radarr and there’s always something added to the server. Should I stop adding things during the scheduled maintenance?

Test it at least to see if it makes a difference.

I think it should be sufficient.
Come to think of it, how much free space has the operating system’s hard drive/partition?

Alright gonna check if I’m awake around that time again.

It’s 2TB SSD with ~1.6TB of free space

Are there any other culprits you could think of sir?

Did you relocate the installation folder of PMS away from C: ?

No sir, I didn’t. Just moved the Data folder to F: as per the guide. Is there anything peculiar in the logs?

Any VPN software or 3rd-party security software?

P.S: please drop the “sir”.

No, nothing like that. But now where you’re saying it, maybe I should add exclusions to Windows Security for the Plex server? Might help huh?

Hahaha OKAY SIR!

I forgot that. Might actually already resolve it no? Coming from Linux back to Windows and I’m setting everything up again in a pain in the *** marathon :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Good idea! I did the same on my system. Exclude the whole Plex data folder from interference by the MS anti virus.

Hell yeah! Will do so right away and report if it either solved it or if it didn’t! :raised_hands:

Will start a scheduled task manually for half an hour and see if it did the trick :+1:

Btw Otto, do you think this could resolve my other issue as well? This would be that PMS isn’t looking for skippable intros during scheduled maintenance or is this on another paper?

Oh and also, how can I trigger the scheduled maintenance besides setting the maintenance time to right now? It seems to have finished the tasks right when they’ve begun

Der Butler hat 0 Intros in Serienstaffeln ermittelt.

I wouldn’t be able to diagnose that (well).
I propose you work first on making your server stable and help it generate those video preview thumbnails. This is one of the major tasks it has to complete. It might actually not get to detecting intros during maintenance, before the video preview thumbs aren’t finished.

Ah okay! This might be it. As I said I’m building up the server from scratch on Windows again and there are actually hundred thousands of items that need special PMS treatments haha. I’ll put that back and see where it is in a few months from now, so it actually finds somewhere to start in that mess ^^

Oh oh, here it comes. It just started the indexing on the sonic analysis. Curious now.

WOW! In the blink of an eye it was finished, consider this SOLVED :100: :joy:

Will eventually report if your first assumption was correct and it crashes due to added items
