PMS crashing since 1.23.*

Server Version#: 1.23.*
running on Mac mini with macOS 10.15.7

All 1.23.* versions of PMS are crashing a few minutes after installation; reverting back to 1.22.3.4523-d0ce30438 solves the problem.
I’ve tried the following versions that crashed

  • 1.23.1.4571-6119e8eed
  • 1.23.1.4602-280ab6053
  • 1.23.3.4707-ebb5fe9f3

I have saved the logs.

Hi, don’t feel bad about this issue. The only way I found to resolve the problem was a proper and full uninstall and install.

If you go down that road make sure you keep some 1.22 zips from the root Library to be safe.

This is likely the solution based on others with similar description.

I did a clean reinstall of PMS but the server is still crashing on the latest 1.23 version.

I am on 1.23.4.4712 but the server still crashed - even after a full clean install of 1.23.4.4712.

The answer is in the logs. Set it in debug mode, restart the flex media server, wait till it crashes. Once it crashes do not restart it and look in the Plex media server.log

Let us know.

I have now reverted to Version 1.22.3.4392 and noticed that I have 2 servers with the same name showing in Plex; one server is greyed out and I cannot access its setting or remove it; the other one is working and expected and I haven’t had any charges since.

Not sure how to get rid of that “ghost” server now.

This is what it looks like now:

I’ve changed the name of the 2nd server to make it identifiable.
