PMS Dropping Connection - Synology

Server Version#: 1.15.3.876
DSM Version#: 6.2.1-23824 Update 6
Plex Media Server Logs_2019-04-13_11-16-31.zip (3.5 MB)

Hi! PMS keeps disallowing remote access - killing and restarting through the Synology Package Center does not resolve the issue. I have to do a full reboot each time to get PMS to be discoverable remotely.

Tautuli (which is installed on the same device in Docker) is also not able to see the PMS when this happens. This happened before the latest update and after the latest update. Any ideas? Logs attached.

I did a full reinstall (deleted the whole Plex volume) to Version 1.15.3.876 and it’s still dropping offline. I’ve attached the logs here again, not really sure where to go now.

New logs attached… any help to fix would be great!Plex Media Server Logs_2019-04-27_21-43-41.zip (4.6 MB)

Thank you for the logs. They were able to show the problem.

Your modem/router/DNS resolver has DNS Rebinding protection (good) but doesn’t know that plex.direct is your LAN. This is why it goes offline.

You need to sign into the modem/router/DNS resolver (e.g. pfsense box or similar) and add an exception to allow the private domain named plex.direct

Chuck,

Appreciate the quick response, is anyone here familiar with Orbi Routers? How do I go about adding “plex.direct” as a pivate domain?

Having googled for an Orbi router (hope the right one),
I find this manual.

Don’t know if it’s the right one. If not, try for one yourself.

Start searching for “Domain” as you come down through the PDF.
If nothing, look for DNS

Hey Chuck,

Thanks for the help on this - I was able to resolve it per your suggestion. PMS stays online now
