PMS: Increasing Log File Retention

If I understand correctly from troubleshooting, there seems to be only a few hours of Mac Plex Media Server log files retained. (By the time my wife reported missing recent DVR’ed OTA tuner recordings, the only log file entries I could find only went back 3 or 4 hours.)

If that is indeed correct, is there a way to dramatically increase Mac PMS log file retention? (With my email server, long ago, I found it valuable to allocate 512MB for each log file—I can look back many years, not just a few hours.)

You can increase the amount of logs kept with the setting: LogNumFiles

LogNumFiles is one of the few Advance, Hidden Server Settings that is not in the current desktop player setting user interface—perhaps it should be.

It’s hidden because we don’t want people to change it unless told so by us!
