PMS is not deep scanning Movie Extras

Server Version: 1.25.1.5286
Server OS: Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard

So I was just doing some maintenance, and noticed someone Direct Playing a movie extra, but also noticed that the bandwidth that Tautulli was reporting being used, was nearly 2.5 times the bitrate of the file, which normally implies the file has not been deep scanned.

Checking the XML, there was no mention of the deepAnalysisVersion= tag against the extra, even though the movie itself had been deep scanned.

I made a note of the Video ratingKey for each extra and manually ran a deep scan on them by command line, after which each item had its deepAnalysisVersion= tag and so Plex was able to correctly estimate how much bandwidth was needed when playing the file.

From what I can see, this has been a problem since at least March 2021, as that was the point where I re-encoded this particular movie.

I have checked a number of others and can see that they are the same - without their deepAnalysisVersion= tag.

I have another topic currently still open regarding Chapters of Extras not generating thumbnails…

@Plex - You guys clearly don’t like, or use movie extras do you!

Just a bump!

And another!

And again…

A weekly bump!

Really bored !!

Tumbleweeds !!

So it would appear that at some point between December 2021 and now, this issue appears to be fixed.

I’m currently running PMS v1.26.0.5715

No idea which version it got fixed in, and when I go backwards through the release notes, the only point I see Extras being mentioned is with versions 1.25.4.5426 on Jan 20th 2022, and 1.25.4.5468 on Jan 26th 2022.

Anyways… Resolved now…

Just need to get the Extras Chapters fixed and I’m good !!
