PMS is unusable in current state

server is almost unusable since april, near daily 503 service unavailable errors, what the ■■■■ is this ■■■■? is there a fix for this instead of “roll back to a previous release” like why hasn’t this been fixed it’s been months.

It’s obviously working for many other people, so the rational conclusion is that there’s something going on in your case that’s causing it to fail. Try providing a little more detail about your situation, and maybe someone will be able to help.

pms 1.27.2.5929 (auto update) on win8.1, pfsense 2.6 with outbound nat rule configured and plex direct set in the dns. nothing that i can tell in the server logs or firewall log that is a failure right before it becomes unavailable and seems to happen randomly. maybe once a day, twice a day, then not for a few days. only solution is to force close plex and restart.

executable doesn’t crash either, it just becomes unavailable. i have seen lots of posts on this and the common resolve is to “roll back” to a release from april.

You are not alone. What you are experiencing is the “deadlock” issue outlined in this thread: Plex Server Crashing Randomly - #95 by sa2000 Read the most recent posts and you will see how to diagnose the deadlock. We have been working with @sa2000 on that thread to try to nail the issue. Feel free to PM me if you need any help on how to run the necessary diagnostic steps to send in to the development team.

perfect, this post didn’t show up when i was searching so thanks. i already have deeper logging turned on so i’ll do the diag when it happens again.

Please Media Server 1.28.2 has just been released as a beta release

It has a fix for a deadlocks issue that was identified last week
