I have been having this problem for a long time. I figured I would live with it since I was going to switch my PMS to a new M1 Mac mini. After the switch it went away for a while and then it came back.
The problem is - I start PMS and keep it running. I will come back less than 24 hours later to see it’s quit. No errors. No power disruption. No internet disconnection. Nothing.
Could someone offer some help in solving this?
Your server logs might contain a hint on what was causing this (or at least what Plex is doing when it happens).
I am happy to post. I downloaded it but don’t know which file to post.

You can post the entire zip file. The most relevant information should be in Plex Media Server.log (incl. its rolling/numbered predecessors)
There’s no immediate errors linked to your crashes. It seems the server was doing some maintenance tasks when it crashed in the night to today.
Could you disable the scheduled tasks to see if that’s the case?
If the crash doesn’t happen with those scheduled tasks disabled, you could subsequently re-able them one-by-one and repeat checking if it’ll crash again over night.
What scheduled tasks are there? Sorry…this is deeper than I have gone before.
Settings > [Server Name] > Scheduled Tasks
That’s the general idea in order to see if this any of them is causing your server crash.
Given you’ve seen those crashes on a daily basis you could however also start with the daily tasks (e.g. the ones not mentioning they’re running weekly or every 3 days).
Turned everything off and still crashed

I don’t like being the devil’s advocate but how have you named and structured your files and folders in your Libraries.
So it did work, now it does not, follow the rules or not. It is now your problem as it always works till it does not.
My naming and organization of my files has been spot on since day one(many years)
For the record, the suggestion of turning off scheduled tasks has not changed anything. It worked fine for years and then it didn’t. Put up with it considering I would switch to a new computer and server. Once I made the move it worked for a little while and then it stopped.
Just looking for suggestions of where to look to try to solve the problem.

Could be a bug in the release.
I had it happen once recently, but it might of been a one off issue. Have you done the database repair? That sounds like the cause.
Also, it could be other apps interfering with PMS. For example, google drive doesn’t play nice at all with Mac M1 currently and causes restart issues.
Check out the Mac logs to see if anything weird is showing up.
Ok. For the first time ever I was awake when it shutdown. I had jetlag from traveling and was watching on my phone when it closed. I immediately downloaded the logs. Could you folks help in deciphering what is happening?
