PMS library not showing when opening trailers app

Hi Guys,

 

I just installed PMS and PlexConnect, now I set everything up according to the guide but it's still not working properly.

When i open the trailer app on my atv3 i just get the normal trailers instead of the PMS.

In the terminal it says:

 

14:34:46 DNSServer: DNS request received!
14:34:46 DNSServer: Source: ('10.0.0.2', 56613)
14:34:46 DNSServer: Domain: mesu.apple.com
14:34:46 DNSServer: ***forward request
14:34:46 DNSServer: -> DNS response from higher level
 
I think the problem is in the last part where DNS response is from a higer level.
Could you guys help me out?
 
What I tried:
I changed the 'ip_pms' in my settings.py to the adres of my PMS shown in the adres bar of the browser when 
you open media manager. 
And i changed the 'ip_dnsmaster' to the former dns adres in my apple tv (the adres of the router).
 
If there's anything else you need to know in order to help, please feel free to ask.

If you did the above as described then you certainly did not follow our guide.

Throw away your files and read the sticky for install guides and how to report a problem.


Please do not use any guides on third party websites are 99.9% of them are out of date.

If you find mistakes in ours or ambiguities then we will happily make changes.

Okay I tried the whole thing again with fresh files and everything 100% like the guide describes, but still I get the same result.

Here is some info about my setup:

aTV model and firmware: aTV 3 with 5.2.1 (6025)

DNS server aTV: 10.0.0.15

Running plex connect (downloaded 14:58 on 10th of july 2013) and plex media server (0.9.7.28.33-f80a4a2) on: Macbook Pro with OS X 10.6.8

Macbook ip adres: 10.0.0.15

Content of the Settings.cfg:

[PlexConnect]
port_pms = 32400
port_webserver = 80
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
loglevel = Normal
ip_pms = 192.168.178.10
enable_dnsserver = True
enable_plexgdm = True
ip_webserver = 0.0.0.0

As I wrote earlier, the problem is that when I open the Trailers app the plex media server interface doesn't show but the normal trailer app turns up.

I hope you guys can help me find the problem.

Your symptoms indicate that the DNS interception is not working.

EDIT: did you make an code changes to PlexConnect?

Also can you take a pic of your ATV DNS (including netmask) settings as i think they may not have saved or e.g. you switch for ethernet but are connecting via wireless.

No i didn't make any changes to PlexConnnect, I just downloaded and unzipped it.

I took a picture of my aTV DNS settings and attached it to this message.

If you migth need any other info about my setup, just let me know.

Can you try rebooting the ATV and the device running PlexConnect please.

I wonder is some DNS info is cached somewhere.

Tried rebooting both but the problem still persist.

Going to try to connect my aTV with an ethernet cable and see if that changes anything.

Tried a couple of different options and when I changed back to the original setup, it somehow started working. No idea what happened to make it work.
